I placed an order for XLT hybrid in June and happily waiting for my build( not yet)
But more and more I’m getting concerned on the quality and reliability of my Maverick..
The latest with the catalytic converter over heating is not good news.
Any others rethinking their decisions to buy the Maverick?

I am teetering on alternatives if mine is further delayed.
As for looking, I have two dealerships reviewing their allocations for a match on a competitor's compact hybrid SUV.

I am trying my best to hold out on my order. The lack of information about the growing quality issues is my biggest concern as well. I find myself shopping around more and more by the week. I really wish Ford would address these issues instead of their current radio silence approach.

I've had my Hybrid XLT for a little over a month now and 4500 miles. I'm happy with it. I'm avoiding the cat converter issue by not using my remote start. Just get in the car and drive it until it's warm enough then turn the heat on.

I agree, I’m at a age this will be my last car/truck and need reliability, really bums me out.
I hope Ford will address this issue on remote start ASAP. Being retired, I will not use remote start until it is fixed by Ford and hoping this is Mav will last many years.

Just don’t use remote start when it is -5 degrees outside and you will probably be fine.
The truck is relatively simple compared to some. More comparable to a compact hybrid corolla in complexity than the average 3 row crossover in my view.
I’m not worried about mine crapping out anytime soon. This isn’t Ford’s first hybrid, isn’t the first to be built on this platform at that factory, and isn’t their first truck.
If concerned, you can either buy some overpriced extended warranty for peace of mind or else buy a Toyota Tacoma if you feel that will serve you better with your reliability needs.

I’m a believer in Toyota and have had many Hondas. The Maverick hybrid is my first Ford. The initial perception of quality exceeded my expectations for what it is. At the end of the day, keeping it running outside of warranty will still be cheaper than a Porsche (my dream car).

I’m going with an ecoboost motor because I know those have been proven in other fords already. That being said I’m sure it will be fine. Every first year vehicle has teething issues, some minor some not. Ford will right whatever it is. They have always been good to their customers.

Starting to sound bad when my 2008 Kia has much better quality than a 2022 vehicle... My Kia has all soft touch materials, auto dim rearview mirror, cloth seats that still look great and paint that still looks very good. On top of that it has been very reliable and I'm at about 100,000 miles on it. Bought it used for 8k in 2016.
