Seatbelt status icon question?

Can someone please tell this noob why the rear driver seat is 'dark gray' while the rear passenger seat is 'light gray' (see image)? Seats are unoccupied and I am driving down the road (well, actually at a stoplight of course but in the process of driving to work)...

I know this is not the answer you want to hear....but...Ford designed it to mark the "Last" seat sat in....that's why you see the gray one in the back. It's Ford Intelliseating. Have someone sit in the driver's rear next time and that will be the one to turn gray.......

Are you seeing it with the same passenger rear seat light gray?

I looked at mine tonight. Me and front seat passenger. Both green. I have my center belt strapped in the back...green. Both the left and right rear seats unoccupied and were the same color....dark gray I believe. But for sure the same color.
