Has anyone tried sealing the gaps at the weather strip towards the cab & at the plastic rail on the bed? I have a hard rollup cover which let's in quite a bit of water and just now siliconed the gaps.

I have not tried to seal those spots yet. I just got my Maverick a week ago and put my tonneau on about 3 days ago or so. I will see how it does in the rain before I try to make any modifications. But I’m putting in a link to a thread in the Honda Ridgeline forum I used to be a part of when I owned my Ridgeline. It is a lengthy but thorough discussion about the attempts to seal the same type of gap. In the end I believe the poster settled on Butyl and Xpel tape. Hope you can access this.

Thank you TNFurb!

I'll check that out.
I've been battling Ford & the dealer for a replacement as the cover is definitely too short in length, no luck yet.

I hope you enjoy your new Maverick & have better luck than me with the Tonneau!

I love mine except that the Android Auto always starts with the map & I can't figure out how to make it start with the stereo screen 🤔

Filled gap with door insulation (foam with self adhesive) Than clamped down hard Tonneau. No leaks in 9 months. Did leak before gap was filled

Maybe I should add that on top of the silicone😜

Sorry to get off topic, just came across these stainless bolts that fit in the female bed threads. I used 4 to fill the hole.
If anyone is interested, I've got about 12 more.

Thanks Don,

Do you think that would become brittle over time?

+1 for black butyl tape. Same placement as OP’s silicone. Super easy to work with - roll into a rope, press in place, smooth using 50/50 dish soap & water, done.

Also used plumber's putty. Still getting water in somewhere but not a ton. I am 99% confident that whom-ever designed the original Ford cover screwed up and made it too short by about 1/2"-3/4". All the Chinese companies then copied this so are all short. On mine, I can have the "windshield wiper" seals either fully touch on the front or the tail-gate but not both. I have seen a couple of covers (both Ford and Chinese knock-offs) and they seem to all be this way.

I totally agree!

Thank you everyone for the responses and help!

I'll post again after testing the silicone in a few days.
