Exactly, thank you! That's what I was trying to get at in my post after my joke you quoted. The problem is that depending where you see it, it doesn't give any context that the thread is in the Canada regional forum. The OP isn't usually going to specify "Canada" in their post because they would...
So now do this chart for Canada. Which is the regional forum where this thread is located, eh! ;) 🍻 cheers!
Seriously tho, would there be a way for the powers-that-be to mark a regional thread 'Canada' inside the thread somehow? I see these threads going off the rails all the time because there...
+1 for black butyl tape. Same placement as OP’s silicone. Super easy to work with - roll into a rope, press in place, smooth using 50/50 dish soap & water, done.
Possibly a mix-up. I remember I did the Ford chat a few weeks after it was built and their system showed it was going to be a long wait time even at that point, so who knows.
We just traded that one for a Tremor I had also ordered. The Tremor shipped the day after it was built - goes from one...
🇨🇦 Long story kinda short: April '22 I ordered an Ecoboost FX4 that never got scheduled. In Sept. '22 I signed a new '23 order - for a Tremor this time instead of the FX4. But through some kind of order mishap, an FX4 got built instead. A little disappointed I had to take an FX4 instead of the...
From my perspective (and maybe only mine), 3 weeks sounds like a walk in the park. My Maverick sat in the Mexican sun for 13 weeks after it was built before it got on a train.
ESI says "Most often bulb side is down for Ford Maverick..."
https://tailgateseal.com/FordMaverick.html
Not sure if the profile for ESI is exactly same as TruXedo; however, bulb side up, right below the lip seemed to work best for me. Makes contact and doesn't roll when closed.
Agreed, a seal kit is essential. I went with the TruXedo TruXseal kit from Amazon, which I think is comparable to the ESI kits you mention. I had the TruXedo on my previous 1/2 ton and it worked well.
The taper seal included in the ESI Maverick-specific kit is interesting. I guess I'll find out...
If only this site would automatically prepend posts in regional forums with something like say: Regional > Canada to make it clear to everyone that it's a thread in the Canadian forum. It could reduce mix-ups re: things like CAD vs. USD. Anyway, carry on! :)
Recall completed and took delivery of truck yesterday. Nice to finally have it at home.
Next up: Bison hard trifold tonneau cover, Bedrug and Husky Liner mats are going in next Tuesday. Then we just drive :)
🇨🇦 My dealer said today that parts for the recall are in stock in Edmonton and will ship overnight. Hopefully we'll be able to finally pick up our Maverick next week.
Yep, that's exactly what happened. It eventually shipped Mar. 6th, so a little over 3 months after build. I contacted Ford chat a couple times during this period, they said it was expected to ship "no later than mid-March". So it was scheduled that way, nothing wrong by their standard.
It...
It's not patience, it's fear. I had to reorder in Sept. after my April '22 order didn't get scheduled. Then in Nov. a dealer mix-up made it look for a bit like I wasn't even ordered. Slight panic to say the least.
So I ain't buying nuthin' until I see it in the lot with my own eyes, lol.
Thanks guys! Def. gonna give it a try, my last tonneau was an Undercover in 2015. This looks very similar - only way less $$ and nice to support a Canadian Co.
