Let's see..."your Honor....I put a hard plastic tote with quite a bit of weight in it in the bed of my truck and it slid around from side to side to side, back and forth as I hit my brakes and accelarator....I think ford needs to pay for my stupidity"Class-action lawsuit?
OH, the humanity!!ZERO scratches on mine with 24k miles...because I put down a blanket or something ..and I have hauled quite a bit. Totes would be something that scratches as it slides...gotta be aware...I mean, c'mon...

You never know nowadays...just saying!Let's see..."your Honor....I put a hard plastic tote with quite a bit of weight in it in the bed of my truck and it slid around from side to side to side, back and forth as I hit my brakes and accelarator....I think ford needs to pay for my stupidity"
Now WHO here in their right mind, would put a "TOTE" with 20-30 pounds on the hood of their truck and SLIDE IT ACROSS it to take it off....? hell...NO ONE I HOPE...same thing would happen.
4 months of ownership and not one scratch from being used from everything from forest trails to off road parks to even the aforementioned hauling of plastic totes in the bed even without the moving blanket I have on hand being put into the bedThe maverick paint is junk, my kids $300 mountain bikes have tougher paint than my $30k truck. It’s a joke.
I have paint chips all over the driver front fender and my bed paint is scratched like crazy.
if I had to do it again I’d get wrap on the front fenders as for some reason they chip worse than anywhere.
I fully expect I’ll need a repaint or heavy professional touch up on the fenders in 5 years. It’s junk paint, as long as people know what to expect they’ll feel better about it when it happens. My 2007 Honda had better paint when I sold it last year. This has more chips in one year than the Honda did in 15.
My 1994 Ranger bed paint was so much tougher or my 2002 Mazda. Never put bed liner in either and got some scratches but the paint was tough.
Perhaps they corrected the paint on later models? A lot of the early owners had issues with paint chipping. Consider yourself lucky4 months of ownership and not one scratch from being used from everything from forest trails to off road parks to even the aforementioned hauling of plastic totes in the bed even without the moving blanket I have on hand being put into the bed
Well, I feel fine. My bed rug had not arrived when I went on the trip that caused the scratches. It's not that big a deal, like I said in the subject of this thread, "How thin is the paint?" Plenty of thoughtful replies indicating the answer is "pretty thin." I already had the bed rug when I made the original post, but not in time to protect for the trip I made. Yesterday I set my appointment to get my Line X SIBL, it will happen Wednesday, so I'm good to go. I appreciate all the feed back I've received. How do you feel now that you have cried out over the scratched bed floor ? Too bad these vehicles don't stay new forever but if the manufacturer made them "bulletproof" they would go out of business. Install a bed mat, bed rug, or bed liner. this will also help keep items you put in the bed from sliding around when you drive.
My dad always said; "you are keeping it in new condition for the next person that will own it".
Weird. The maverick paint is junk, my kids $300 mountain bikes have tougher paint than my $30k truck. It’s a joke.

That's really interesting in several ways.https://www.fordpartsgiant.com/parts/ford-cover_f37z-9943121-a.html
Not positive on the fit but it has the same part number #43121
I'll be looking at a SIBL, how much will the Line X gonna cost?Yesterday I set my appointment to get my Line X SIBL, it will happen Wednesday, so I'm good to go.
I will strictly guess and say 500-600 bucks?I'll be looking at a SIBL, how much will the Line X gonna cost?
Mine is going to be $549, then add sales tax. I've seen higher and lower prices. That is for the standard product, w/o the UV protection. Mine will have a tonneau cover and sleep in the garage so I don't really need the UV protection.I'll be looking at a SIBL, how much will the Line X gonna cost?
I paid $475.00 with tax for mine. The Ford dealer has a special arrangement with the local Line X shop where you can get the “dealer” price.I'll be looking at a SIBL, how much will the Line X gonna cost?
