I backed into a lawn mower recently and put a nasty scratch (about 2.5 inches long) into my Maverick, along with several other minor surface scratches. Went on Amazon and ordered a 3M Scratch repair Kit and a Motorcraft Paint Pen. The results were excellent. The smaller scratches disappeared with very little effort on my part and no touch-up needed. The larger scratch went down to the base metal. A little bit of sanding with the 3000-grit sanding pad in the kit and multiple applications of the touch up paint (while sanding in between coats) to build up the deep groove left by the scratch, and it came out great.
Other contributors here have had problems finding the correct paint on Amazon. I first went to the Ford site to get the proper Part Number then typed that into the Amazon search box and it came right up. The color match was spot on. The large scratch is almost invisible to the point that I have to search closely to find it. Note that I have zero experience in this type of paint repair. So, anybody should be able to get similar results.
