That is great that your insurance company did that. My sister n law after tree hit the car because of hurricane about 8 years ago: Her insurance company wrote her a check to spend as she wished. The car had a rebuilt title at the time. She pocket the check that represented the damages and drove that car as is for a couple more years. I think the insurance was geico at the time.
That is what we are doing, still driving it totalled the last 3 years.i put the check towards our new maverick and will probably sell the totalled vehicle this spring since it still runs and functions great.

I would always buy a rebuilt if a good deal. As stated had 3 of them. The dodge van sxt had 5500 miles on i, was 3 years old and paid 5500 bucks. Live in florida. i bought van drove for 13 years. seat belts didn't work.
Was going to move to Georgia. called and their inspector said they would have to check it out again for inspection, even though fl gave it rebuilt title. Georgia would have failed it since air bags not working..hmmm
