It's going to be a long year, with guarantee changes. Don't view everything set in stone for the entire production year. Hitches were not a constraint most of the year. My Lariat Lux Hybrid was constrained and yet did receive it three weeks ago. Number 1 region allocations, 2 dealer allocations and then constraint items that change. All of a sudden something happened and there were a lot of hybrids scheduled that were Lariat Lux package heavy. What the factory can and plans on producing on a given time period is fluid.

Get the factory hitch. It'll be such a pain and way more expensive to do later.

There are variants and different part numbers for different hitches.

The CNC cutouts for the 4 pin vs 7 pin are different. Can't really substitute them.

I'm told the shape is slightly different for FWD vs. 4WD.

You at home can modify your 4 pin to a 7 pin with a drill and saw. But don't expect a dealer to. And "probably" (unconfirmed) you can't put a FWD variant on a 4WD.

They are all "Class III" as far as I can tell.
Functionally the same, but 3 or 4 variants.

As the originator of this spreadsheet, I caveat that this was based on the assumption Ford schedules only 77,800 more trucks based on the capacities given by Tim last week.

But even then, there is a problem with the numbers.

Tim mentioned the hitch numbers include the packages. Assuming the 4K uses a different hitch altogether, the planned capacity for the XLT and Lariat Lux packages would account for 48,236 hitches... which is well over the 35,010 hitches Ford planned. So, that would mean Ford doesn't even have enough hitches to meet the demand for the Lux capacity they planned...ignoring orders altogether.

So, standalone hitches are going to be a problem. That's not to say no one gets them; just that its true constraint is a lot lower.
I am surprised they didn’t raise the price.

Honestly, on this one I think Tim might need to double check. The numbers simply don't add up if the hitch constraints include the packages. They have to be hitch-only.

Well the numbers now could be way different 5 months from now. So I wouldn’t really go by any numbers.

You can talk to some small dealers orderers who were 10th in line and never got one. Smaller dealers do matter.
You can talk to some large dealers ''orderers'' who were 2nd in line and never got one, and you can talk to some small dealers ''orderers'' who were 20th in line and got 2. Again, dealer size means nothing. Number of allocations to number of orders is what matters. I would much rather be one of 5 orders at a small dealer than one of 500 orders at a large dealer.

If I’m managing the Maverick production, a hitch constraint seems like something I could overcome by leaning on suppliers. I don’t get the concern. It’s not like a have to rework the assembly line to add capacity.

limited hybrid power trains seems like a problem I be struggling with.

Yea, the suppliers could sell more, they just don't want to. /s

Hahah, large dealer and second in line?! Ya no.. I was 30th and got one in 10 months.. smaller dealers are harder to get one period.

Get the factory hitch for resale if nothing else.chances are you got a long wait for truck anyway so at least get what you want and you will be glad you did.

This is simply not true. First of all, personal anecdotes mean nothing, or else I would just say that we got our 22 two months after ordering from small dealer, AND our three 23s ordered in sept from small dealer are all scheduled for Dec builds.

The bottom line is, assuming the dealer did not oversell its allotment, you are no better off at a large dealer. Large dealer = 120 annual allocations, 10/month. Small dealer = 12 annual allocations, one per month. No better odds at one or the other.

Ford said they were prioritizing hitches for packaged builds. The standalone is what is the problem.
I ordered xl hybrid with a standalone hitch and my build date is December 19th.
