Maybe you have the need for an extra cargo holder, but I'm a bit cloudy for what you would use this. Hopefully, you could take the time to clue me in? Honest question, btw.

It’s used to carry the gear that won’t fit under my bed cover. Stuff that needs to stay dry in the bed everything else on top. I will only have the cargo carrier on the bed when I’m traveling and everything won’t fit in the bed. The rails and basket are easily removed together one piece in a few minutes using the quick disconnects where the rails mount to the bed cover. If you zoom in on the picture there’s a key lock where the rails mount to the bed cover. Total weight of basket and rails about 20 pounds.

Works for what I need it for.
Seeing it loaded with gear makes more sense. If you're going to have a tonneau cover and haul more, other than just leaving the cover open, this is a decent option.

At least it's removable when not needed as well.

I'm not sure why, but this just looks cool to me. Like it makes the whole rig look beefier?

Also, this is a great setup for camping (one of my big use cases for the Mav). We regularly pack every inch of the bed and put a few things in the cab (doggo gets most of the back seat). I have to get creative when I bring the extra shelter

I do have bed rails and a cargo box, but it's a lot harder to reach. And I suspect this setup is easier on the MPGs. For the same reasons, I like this config better than roof mounting.

Nice setup! Thanks for posting.

I would spin it 180 and put rear lights on the tabs with a disconnect coming from the 2 bed power pigtails...
Nice, but not my taste either.

@ROOSTER Thanks for posting this. We use our Mav as a toad behind the motorhome and are always in need of more cargo space. We have the Truxedo elevate rack system in the bed and a Rhino roof rack. We also tote an inflatable boat, engine and all the other camping accessories. The boat is bulky when folded up and this would be a perfect use case for that. Will free up some bed space and still allow us to use the retractable tonneau cover.
