Reverse Camera Makes Google Maps Super Slow

Hey guys, I've noticed that if I plug in my phone, throw the car in reverse, go in drive.. the map will be INCREDIBLY laggy to the point where i have to restart the screen. So I've been making it a point to not plug in my phone until I'm done going in reverse and haven't had a problem since.

What's your trim? I've noticed with my loaner F-150s the lower trims run a lot slower than the higher trims.

My phone won't show a map if I'm plugged in to the USB port, because it goes to Android auto. Yours might be trying to deal with Android Auto/Carplay even if it's not turned on.

Yaeh sorry i meant android auto is super slow. Its like the onboard computer can't handle the backup cam + android auto at the same time

On my XLT LUX Hybrid I can push my drive mode selector button at rate of 0.5-0.75 times per second but in my Lariat first edition loaded it will accept the pushes as quickly as I can repeatedly push.

In the F-150 Heritage, I could flip through the driver menu as fast as I could hit the button. On the STX I'm driving, I'm still waiting on it to respond....

What does it look like when you are in reverse? Is it showing maps and the reverse cam at the same time?

I run Android Auto everyday and when I go into reverse, the cam just takes over the entire screen. When I go back into drive, it just toggles back to android auto.

No the cam takes over like yours. But upon putting it back into drive, the Android auto lags really bad

How long does it lag. A minute or two or lags until you unplug phone and replug in again?

Gotta unplug and plug back in. Sometimes it won't even recognize the phone when I do that, hence restarting the console
