I came from a RAM 1500. It drives straight and smooth. When we got our FX4 Maverick I noticed it is not as quiet and doesn't track as well. Look away and it starts wandering. As I drove it more I don't notice it anymore and love how it drives. Took 2 1500 mile trips in the last 2 months and it was comfortable and smooth. I believe when you get a different vehicle you drive it expecting it to be like your last one. Takes a little time to adjust your "muscle memory".

Since, WE are going down this road.. 😜
Are not the ECOs and Hybrids using the same suspension/steering components from the CV joints,(power shafts) outwards??
Or is there a different arrangement..between the two. please enlighten, someone..

Well, one of the delightful things about the ecoboost AWD is independent suspension, which the hybrids don't get. I've never driven a hybrid, so I can't personally attest to any ride differences. But the reviews where they have driven both usually talk about how much nicer the AWD setup is. Again, I can't vouch for that myself, and I don't know if they meant a tiny bit better or a lot better (I suspect a tiny bit).

That's why when somebody talks about the Maverick's ride, the first thing I check is whether they were in the AWD or the cruder suspension. Because they are very different animals.

Wasn't the newer RAM 1500 a car of the year and win a lot of awards? I understand the newer ones are really awesome palaces inside. I mean that in a good way. I like palaces as long as I can afford them.

Can you be more specific about the hwy experience?
If it was too firm and bouncy, the dealer didn't set the tires pressure to spec.
When my Maverick was delivered it bounced like a covered wagon....55psi in the tires. Lowered the air pressure and rides fine now. Found out the factory purposefully puts air pressure to 50-55 pounds for the railroad transportation and Dealer is supposed to correct to 35lbs on Hybrids. My dealer confirmed that their techy had forgotten to fix the air pressure.

To be clear, the difference is only in the back, where the AWD gets the independent set up vs. the twist beam of the FWD. The front is the same between the two.

It's going to be more noticeable on rough surfaces & cornering vs. smooth highway driving, and the difference would be hard to detect by most drivers.

If the OP's truck is not defective, he is simply trolling.

OK, the AWD is different than the FWD. In the rear-end! :p
But, is not the "Front Suspension" the same for All FWD, Ecos and Hybrids?

The "Ride" for ME, coming from 35+ years of 1st-3rd Gen Rangers. Is defiantly softer.. ;)
Though, my tires PSI were in the mid-40s, when I checked them after bring the Mav home for the first time...

Looks like DT90 has made his drive by comment and left the building. I thought asking him to support his 3 day return claim would silence him. I wonder what possess people to post drivel like his on the Internet. BTW, my Maverick hybrid drives great in the city and on the highway.

You can just return it like a pair of shoes that don't fit? Well, anyway, too bad you waited 16 months for something that did not work out. Bummer.

Maybe an EcoBeast will work out for you. I love mine, best pickup I ever owned. Just today a third friend came over to try out my truck and ordering one just like it Friday. He was totally impressed especially the power and the AWD system. They are a bitchin' truck. :ROFLMAO: (y)
So I waited for months and months before our dealer got one in (2021) MY 2022. Ecoboost/XLT - First test drive I was like yeah this thing is kinda lame. So disappointed - Fast forward. Drove a guys loaded Larait/4K/LUX - Could not Believe it was even basically the same frame truck. Hard to explain but IMO not all Mavericks are created equal.

The difference here might be the fact that one is FWD and the other is AWD. The AWD has an independent rear suspension that makes a big difference. I also have an A.R.E. MX-series (mid-rise) shell on the back -- the weight also helps with the ride quality.

Orginally, I bought a 2022 XL Hybrid (September 2022). I didn't like the ride quality or the CVT transmission. My son, on the other hand, loves it (2023 XLT Hybrid). I ordered a 2023 XLT EB AWD (4KTow, CP360, BAP, etc.), and it rides and drives significantly better in my personal opinion.

yea hybrids are meant for city driving
I drove my Lariat Hybrid to Buffalo, NY from Pensacola, FL twice, and to Memphis, TN and love the smoothness and handling on the interstate. Plus, I drive it an hour each way to go to the VA Hospital for appts on the interstate quite often. The only thing I can say is that I get 43 mpg in the city, and 37 mpg on the highway. Other than that, I love my truck!

I will go on to say that, besides my two round trips from Pensacola, FL to Buffalo, I also took a one way trip to move to the Buffalo area towing a 5' x 8' fully loaded trailer. It was a 1250 mile trip one way. I never experienced a loss of power, trouble steering, vibration, rattling and such. Considering the trailer was fully loaded, it had no problem towing it. My mpg diminished to 23 mpg driving in towing mode, but I expected that.

Mine is a 2014 Express 4x4 nothing fancy. 162K miles still drives great. The rear coil springs instead of leaf springs really improve the ride. It is quieter, but I don't know if the Maverick has broken in or I just got used to it but I like the ride now.
