The gap begins to close significantly once AWD is added to an XLT.
a while back I built XLT with hybrid 4k tow (includes awd as you know), XLT lux, BAP and I was shocked to see it was $39k.

IPMA now has more inputs besides the front CCM radar.

definitely. To me once you’re looking at XLT+Lux gotta make the jump to lariat.

My XLT has the camera for lane-keeping assist but not the blind-spot monitor option, which I'm guessing uses the corner radar. I'm assuming I'd also need to add those for lane centering to function which hopefully just means swapping the mirrors? I'm finding PNs NZ6Z-17683-L, NZ6Z-17682-K, and NZ6Z-14C689-A for around ~$200 each online but don't know if coding is possible until I dig further.

You aren't going to be able to add lane centering.

For adding ACC/Lane centering to Mavericks up thru 2024:
Going thru the DIY post, I got the impression that the IPMA Camera on the front windshield, the CCM front radar module for Adaptive Cruise Control, Steering Wheel Switch change out, and Forscan are what's required to enable ACC with Lane Centering up thru 2024.

2025 Mavericks have a different layout with the IPMA Camera on the windshield, the IMPA Module behind the rear seat and additional inputs for BLIS, front & rear parking assist, additonal networks.

As with 2022 to 2024 where BLIS is not required for adding ACC/Lane Centering, I don't expect that BLIS is required for 2025. It's just the 2025 IMPA Module functions have been expanded.

Gathered some of 2025 service info whle checking what is same or different.

2025 Maverick:

Cruise Control - Vehicles With: Adaptive Cruise Control With Lane Centering
Lane Keeping System

The ACC with the lane keeping system uses the IPMA camera to assist in keeping the vehicle within the lane by applying a continuous assistance steering torque input toward the center of the lane. When the system is active in the alert mode and the vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane, the system provides an alert by vibrating the steering wheel. In aid mode, the system provides steering assistance by counter steering the vehicle back into the lane.

Component Description

Steering Wheel Switches
The cruise control steering wheel mounted switches are momentary contact switches that toggle up and down for the switch state. The switches are an input to the SCCM .

CCM
The CCM contains a radar sensing unit which measures the relative speed and the distance between the front of the vehicle and the vehicle being followed.
The CCM sends this information to the IPMA on a dedicated private CAN .

EBB
The cruise control deactivator switch is integrated in the EBB and opens when the brake pedal is applied and removes the ground signal from the PCM input circuit and immediately deactivating the ACC system.

IPMA Camera
The lane keeping system contains a IPMA camera located on windshield (above the interior rear view mirror), is used to detect the position of the vehicle within the lane.
The IPMA camera requires a camera alignment when removed or replaced.

IPMA
The IPMA communicates on the FD-CAN and on vehicles equipped with the ACC and collision warning system, the IPMA shares information with the CCM on dedicated private CAN circuits to assist the driver in avoiding a collision.


Lane Keeping System
Component Description

IPMA Camera
The lane keeping system contains a IPMA camera located on windshield (above the interior rear view mirror), that is used to detect the position of the vehicle within the lane.

The SODL and SODR are radar based sensors that are located rearward of the rear wheel under the bumper cover.
These sensors detect targets for the BLIS and CTA system.
The SODL and SODR communicate with the IPMA through a private CAN bus.


Controller Area Network (CAN) Module Communications Network

The communication networks are:
• FD-CAN1
• FD-CAN2
• FD-CAN3
• HS-CAN1
• HS-CAN2
• HS-CAN3
• MS-CAN


Ethernet Module Communications Network
The Ethernet communication network is a high speed communication network providing high bandwidth data transfer and improved data security to support module updates over the air, driver assistance systems, multi media systems and improved connectivity. The Ethernet communication network connects the TCU and the GWM and other connected modules such as the APIM , dependent on the vehicle configuration.

The network is primarily utilized for the update over the air feature to quickly and securely transfer data from the connected external source (data cloud) through the TCU to the GWM where it is distributed to the receiving module on the vehicle.

Thanks for the great breakdown! I'm curious if the Ethernet communications network will make it more prone to OTA updates breaking functionality or cause issues with directly coding the modules using FORScan. That said, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that the same process can be used to retrofit ACC and LKA on my 2025 model.

I am currently working on a seat swap from a '22 XLT with the Lux package into my '25. See thread here.

One of the issues that I am having is that Forscan 2.3.65 will not access all the modules. I have two different OBD scanners, a OBD LInk EX and a Vgate. Both are supposed to access everything but don't. I can't access the following modules PACM, TRM, OCS, RCM, GSM, and ACM, possibly more.

I gave feedback to the Forscan.org sight about the issue.

Here is a screen shot of the modules I can access. I had 3 DTCs the first time I scanned the truck. One of them was a ACCM module CAN Bus off. All 3 DTCs cleared.

Thanks to @BlueSpec for all the help with this mod, without his help this mod would not be possible.

Probably, like recalls that flash BCM.
So would have to document changes in what modules for any Forscan changes.

Vehicles with Over-the-Air (OTA) Programming
The customer has the option to turn Automatic Updates on or off and set or change update schedules.

Erase and Replace Modules - Many modules on the vehicle need to be erased before new data can be installed

ABA Swap Configuration Modules - (5 modules listed as ABA)
For modules that have an ABA swap configuration the update is applied to the B portion of the module while the vehicle continues to reference the data in the A portion. The module will reference the new data once a key cycle has completed.

System Settings
Vehicle connectivity must be enabled for over the air updates to be applied to the vehicle.
The customer has the option to turn Automatic Updates on or off and set or change update schedules.

I just ordered the OBD Link EX myself hoping that it would be supported in the future releases of FORSCAN for the Maverick 2025.

@BlueSpec1 In the next few weeks I'm going to try and start with ordering the front radar module NZ6T9G768AA from the 2024 and break down what wiring I would need to do before I tear anything apart.

Blind Spot isn't required for Lane Centering/ACC.
