Only mark up they did on my maverick was a 299 theft protection plan. Which I was okay with. Plus I got extended bumper to bumper warranty. I didn't care bc I still paid 7k below the window tag with my trade in.

****I am a little late responding to your thread but here is my Red McCombs San Antonio story.

I ordered my Mav in July 2021. 12 months later I get the call that it had arrived. In that 12 months I received exactly ZERO communication from the dealership. Not a single call or email....NADA. On the call I was told by the 'next' salesman (mine had already quit) that I had 48 hours to pick it up or I would lose it. Lose MY TRUCK! Plus....there was the $2500 markup for the same crap mentioned above. I went postal on the phone.....(well, kinda). I told him that I did not give a damn about his "standard and everyone pays it" BS policy. I waited a year for my truck and I was demanding that they keep their word on selling it at sticker. He hung up, checked with his pack leader and called me back. He dropped the surcharge. I was there in 3 hours with a check in hand.


Happy with my Maverick. Never again with this dealer. It is a real shame that we have to deal with this kind of deception when we make high dollar purchases.

So they are still up to the same dirty practices and even their sales men know it because they keep quitting.

What I am stuck with now that I have had my truck for a year is finding a reputable dealership near SA to do my recall work. It seems like everyone likes Northside and they are always booked and I refuse to go back to Red McCombs.

I ordered my 2022 XL Hybrid at Red McCombs in San Antonio and just took delivery this last weekend. They did push an "environmental package" but after a little back and forth it was removed. They also put a $650ish security package fee on the sale. They install/etch their anti-theft package as soon as the vehicle comes in so that is another thing you have to deal with.

Once I started working with Philip Marlowe in their sales department the communication and assistance did get a lot better. He got the $2500 rebate from Ford which was very helpful. Ask for him if you end up there.
