Reset MyKey

I bought my Mav used from a non-ford dealership. I love it, but I need your help. There is something called MyKey and I can’t figure it out. The truck has a speed limit set and I need to use MyKey to change/delete it. I’ve watched several YT vids but they were no help. I don’t get any of the same prompts or screens on my dash panel.

Is there a special key (physical key) that I should have gotten? I have two keys/fobs but they look identical. I really need someone who speaks plain English to walk me through resetting this darn feature.

For MY24 Lariat Hybrid, Owner's Manual page 70:

The issue you may have, is that one of your keys need to be an original "admin" key. I would take just one key/keyfob to the truck and see if you can clear the "Mykeys". If that doesn't work swap keys and try again, but only take one key to the truck so that it doesn't get confused.

Any key can be either a MyKey or an Admin Key, they both start out as Admin Keys.

So you are saying the manual pages posted and the advice failed to work, before the link?

So you have 2 MyKeys then?

And yes they look identical - it's nothing about the cut or the fob.
It's about the transponder codes from the fobs the truck has logged - and which one is considered restricted now.

Well, first off, forget about the YT Videos. Follow the steps 1 by 1 shown in Post #2 to CLEAR ALL MYKEYS (Page 69 in my MY22 manual). Removing the fob is not even mentioned in the steps!!!
Then both keys should then be non restricted admin keys.

Afterwards, IF you want to create a new mykey with your own selected restrictions, see pages 66-67 in your MY22 manual

Thanks to all those who send me advice on how to solve my MyKey issue. Turns out the other fob I had in the drawer was the admin key. I was successful in deleting MyKey and removing the speed restriction. Look out Smokey, here I come. Only joking about speeding, in my advanced years I’ve learned patience. In other words: the fish will still be biting when I get there. Thanks again, see y’all on the road!

If you have 2 keys , see if both are my keys . If one is the administrative key. You can use it to remove the my key function from the other. But you don't have the administrative key. You will have to erase BOTH keys and reprogram them. That's the way we have to do it at the dealership. So you'll have to find someone who can erase AND reprogram keys. By the way if you erase the keys, you WILL need to program at least TWO keys in order to start the vehicle. So make sure you have two present BEFORE you have the keys erased.
