In my opinion.

If you do the A, B and C pillars blacked out your trying to hard to look like a cheap mans rivian.

The Rivian only has A and B pillars done.
Agreed, I was getting a Rivian vibe from that, too.

I'll leave these design choices the extremely gifted and well-paid artistic designers who work for Ford.

I have not, still debating. 🤷‍♂️

Haha, not the no brainer you claim. I'm in the same boat. Is it worth it with black? Also maybe it does kinda tie all the plastic trim together.

Yeah - ya got me! I started thinking once done, it would take some effort to restore, so I put it on the back burner.

I think it looks better without, what do you all think? Mine is black, so it's a no-brainer, shiny vs. matte.

I love that you said that. They are very attractive vehicles but I hate those round headlights. Way too effeminate. Reminds me of first model Jeep liberty. Could never take that vehicle seriously.

Now that is a good one...cant be taken seriously. Also that the Riv should be a character in Cars

I have considered removing the pillar vinyl but have mixed feelings about doing so. The vinyl certainly protects that high touch area from scratches. OTOH, I've seen the pillar vinyl fade and peel on older vehicles that still looked good otherwise.
Is the fact it's a high touch area the reason for these? I noticed the rubber across the door rests directly on the vinyl so I didn't know if it had some other purpose. Sometimes a little extra gap can cause issues. Like would water slowly get under that seal and into the doors internals making it rot over time?

Not saying that's the case just saying things are usually designed a way for a reason. Noticed it also wraps around the doors edge which can help stop paint chips in that area. Maybe it's just there for aesthetics. I honestly thought it was a plastic trim piece before not vinyl. Still very torn about doing it this.

Again just clarifying I don't think anything bad will happen just curious of the intent behind it. Sometimes things on cars are really important, of very little importance or other times they are just stupid. Could also score it gently leaving some under the seal I suppose. Heck sometimes I just overthink things!

Ya think? ;)
Oh for sure haha though in all honesty I believe it's just like you said about it being a contact point. Also noticed it helps hide that extended crease on the door at the top a bit. If someone does it on Azure Gray Metallic I'd love to see it.
