I don't use remote start often.
I have the button on my keyfob.

Those who read my posts know I advocate for highest MPG and remote starting is not the way to get 800 miles on a tank, but that's not the topic here.

I tried it when the truck was new just to prove I could.

I've used it from the key fob about 2 times on REALLY hot days to do a little pre-cooling.

Then the truck went to the dealer for oil change and a little more that involved software updates while there.

Did not try any remote starts for a couple of weeks. Tried yesterday, could not get any remote starts. I check the setting in the instrument cluster. It was still set to allow remote starts.

I set remote starts to "off". Removed the key, open and shut the driver door. Locked all the doorsClicked the key fob 2x for fun, key fob lights red for 2 seconds, truck doesn't start as expected.

Turn the key, go to menu, check box to allow remote starts, turn off, remove key. Open driver door. Shut driver door. Lock the truck. Press key fob 2x and the fob lights up red for 2 seconds, truck does not start.

Before I make ANOTHER dealership appointment, am I missing some "trick" to get remote start going?

TIA

Edit:
Yes, locked the doors first.
Just filled up a couple of days ago, like 90% full tank of gas.

Are you hitting the "lock" button on the remote before you hit the start button twice?

Not sure about the Maverick, as I haven't received mine yet....go figure. I do however have a 2017 Focus with remote start. Remote start on that model will not work if fuel level is below 1/4 of a tank. I believe that is safety factor to not run out of fuel while idling.

If you forget to hit the lock button on the fob before hitting remote start 2x, you get the red light.

If you get the red light almost immediately, that generally means that it did not actually send the signal (see above). After it sends the signal, there's a couple second pause where it waits for a response from the car. No confirmation from the car, you get the red light. All good from the car, you get the green light.

Good morning- I can look into this for you. Feel free to send over a private message with your VIN and dealership information at your earliest convenience.
