Sorry if i offended you or anyone else but at the end of the day I stand firm in my personal opinion.
Not offended at all. Nice thing about opinions, everybody is entitled to one. I grew up in an era where generally if you didn't fix it yourself it didn't get fixed. Not saying my opinion is correct at all, but if it was me I would just fix the harness and move on. Probably not the smart thing to do. But that's just me.

Well I'm not sure a wiring harness recall and a random check engine light qualifies as a 'bomb' but OK. I guess I was expecting more of a list of things you don't like. So outside of those things do you like the truck? Seems like it ticks all the boxes for me so looking to order one this summer.

Good news is you will most likely make money if you sell it.

Yep a slow moving turd of a process where if things were quality tested in the beginning we wouldnt be debating. It's a well know fact that redo's are far more expensive to the companies than doing it right the first time instead of letting it slide, not to mention the sour taste that the consumers have to deal with throughout the process. I would imagine many going through the issue will likely not be eager to return to ford for their next vehicle purchase with memories of what they went through and endured

This speaks very poorly of fords quality control. They had time for Mach-E and Bronco recalls but no mention of Maverick. Sure not good advertising. Come on Ford, get your QC house in order!

Slow moving turd shows a well designed sewer in which a turd will never stop moving and the liquids will not flow fast enough to leave the solids stranded. 😇

Funny meme...but REALLY...just 2 hu?! I don't think the several threads on this topic show that...but yes funny meme ;)
It's intentional hyperbole for satire. I don't mean to downplay anyone's issues or solutions. In fact, as I was writing this I was thinking "I'm cursing myself... It's totally gonna happen to me next. 🤣😐😳

All good...I just fear getting stranded somewhere in a brand new vehicle...which should not happen. Hope it does NOT happen to you Mr. mamboman777.

I worked 30y in electronics industry. This joint is aluminum? To plated steel? Its very difficult to weld/solder/braze two dissimilar metals, its extra difficult to do it if its aluminum alloy.(if not impossible).

There is something very easy to check to ensure its done correctly, its called a pull test, put 35lbs of pull to the joint to check mechanical stress.(this check could be implemented on all vehicles in question).

Once the process is setup and put into motion, it needs to be monitored closely. Its a difficult process then has a tight window for success.

Not standing up for Ford, merely explaining the situation, plus Ford usually hires out its wiring harnesses. So the vendors process got out of control, QC didn't catch defects, shipped to Ford assembly were QC incoming missed as well, got installed in Mavs.

If you are going to repair and keep as original, you got to be top of line solder technician with special Flux and solder. The heat range is critical as well, not too hot and not too cold.

I would consider a different lug(copper clad), which would work with AL or CU. I would consider a crimped connection as well. If performed correctly.

I am waiting/watching until someone has one in their hand so we can answer some of the questions as to what material we are working with, so then and only then can we perform our(my) own repair.

It looks like there is an issue with the welds on the battery cable at the Battery Junction Box. It is hidden under the shrink tubing, so if you are having issues, I would start there.

no heat at all just pressure. The solder didn't ever reflow or get liquius. Is there even any solder? or its just the pre tinning of the cable? absolutely attrocus QA.

Unless this joint got so hot that the solder wicked away but I do not see any discoloration. I hope I am wrong here.
One bolt at one junction wont solve this issue if there are more of these connections down the feed line.

I am beginning to think that this issue may propagate up the entire cable assembly. Hence they recommend in some of these cases to replace the entire harness vs drilling and adding a bolt to secure it in one location.
With Ford being quite it leads to much unneeded speculation and un needed worry.

Lets just hope that they can trace the issue to build lots and get those recalls started.

Can someone from Ford chime in on this issue?

Are you thinking just a pressure type solder/weld? It could pulse/ultrasonic/resistance heat? The heat has to be generated by the technique for soldering.

Ford’s not going to recall the Mav for anything at this point. Reason…..they’ve received enough bad press over all the other recalls they have ongoing, especially the MachE. Why add to it now? It would mean an even lower stock price for a company who’s stock has already been sliced in half just this year. Ford…..please prove me wrong!

Ford should recall every hybrid and replace the harness.. imagine if your maverick die just like that .in the tunnel, in a curve, speedway/express way/highway…. i just checked my vin and no recall not tech note whatsoever,
This just happened to me last week. My Maverick just went dead, no warning. We were stuck in a cemetery in 97 degree heat, with no a/c or water. The Ford roadside, said they sent a tow, 2 hours later, they sent another tow, 2 hours later, somebody FINALLY showed up, but it was just a van to jump us. It started and we headed home. ON the way home, it died completely, turning at a light in the middle of two major highways intersecting. You can't put it in neutral with no power!! I managed to get it to coast into a turn lane but it was getting dark, no hazard lights work or anything. A cop showed up, ford roadside, told me 2 hours to get a tow, cop jumped it and I got it into a parking lot before it died again. After 2 hours, still no tow, I called my son to follow us home and he jumped us every time it died. Once home, it died and would not start. After fighting with roadside again, waiting for a tow for 8 hours, they finally took it to the dealer. Whom said I had to wait for them to finish their appt before they would diagnose the truck. I had looked on here and suggested it was probably wiring harness.. Tried to get a loaner and they said no until they diagnose truck, then the machine they use to diagnose truck was "down". Long story short (too late huh?) Truck broke down on Saturday, I finally, got a loaner on Tuesday. They diagnosed the wiring harness!! Part on back order, sometime in July it should come in.. But I agree it should be a recall. Had we been on a road with less traffic or away from any businesses, with no hazard lights, it could have been a accident waiting to happen!!

PS>. I have less than 3,000 miles on my truck.
