Changed out my cheap components and went with some genius 6.5 bullets, ds18 4 bullets, skar tweets, and a skar 800.1 on a skar ddx10. Eventually going to take back seat out and do bucket seats with a center console box. Kept the puzu dsp(it's awesome) and added an rca bass knob. Still need to install engine cover, wireless char

Without the subwoofer and amp, how was the other wiring? I tallyed $160 for the front 6 speakers, which seems resonable. Thanks!

I paid $300 for sub+amp kicker hs10 hideaway, $200 for tweeters, fronts, rears, and another $60 for a breakout harness to avoid cutting into factory wiring to get the sub installed. You don't need any wiring for the front speakers and tweeters, and crutchfield will throw in speaker harness adapters for free if you buy there. You can buy another set of adapters for the rear speakers but I just ended up soldering the provided pigtails for mine.

If you're not huge into bass getting just the front speakers goes a heck of a way to getting a decent sound system. I went all out and I think it was worth it. For the sub I did the labor myself and already had audio wires laying around + the sub came with wires and connectors so maybe another $50 for tools and misc equipment if you're starting from scratch.

So the front 4 and rear 2 are basically plug and play? How was the trim dis-assembly and reinstall.
Thanks in advance!

You need the metra harnesses for each pair. Doors are 72-5602. Also need an adapter ring 82-5605 for doors. tweets and rears are 72-5603. If you order from Crutchfield, they include harnesses and adapter free. I went outside and pieced together my system on specs and playable tones. Bought harnesses from Amazon. Tweets were super easy. Pillars unsnap and then the plates come up with a pry tool. Door was pretty easy as well. 5 bolts I think in 7mm and 1 8mm. There are Maverick videos on YouTube you can watch for exact install. Rears were all clips and 1 bolt. 1 clip on each bend was a pita, but finagled them out. Then I purchased the PUZU dsp amp that is plug and play. Sounds amazing and 10× better than factory. All in all I'm $800ish in. Love it.

Choppy 78 could you tell us how you mounted the tweeters ? They look like there just sitting in a hole in that cover. What is the depth of these and could they go in the doors ? Thanks

I dremeled out the 1.64 diameter and they are snug flush. I did cut out the factory clips to get this tweeter to fit flush. They do come with flush, angle, and raised mounts. So door would work.

How in the world did you get a dremel in there? When I did mine I used dikes to cut the height down of the plastic retainers so the factory trim piece would go back in.

Specifically I used a step bit to cut a big enough hole and then grinded with a dremel to my line. Came out nice I think

And I went old school and used a box cutter to cut out the plastic retainers.
