When stuff like this happens....

USUALLY

You can disconnect the 12 Volt battery for a few minutes, ( 5 min? 10 min?) and then reattach and drive away.

If the codes don't come back, can consider it a one time computer glitch. If the codes come back, see a dealer asap.

But... I see and sympathize with your predicament getting ready to cross a desert in July with 2 hours between towns. So I probably would have gotten a rental also.

All other times I would have done the battery reset and kept driving.

I have some miles under my belt and I have never had a "one time computer glitch" that would be a safety issue. Now I have my maverick which has been OK but the amount of electrical glitches you see on these is actually concerning.

Click on a person's profile icon. In there, click on "Start Conversation." "Send DM" would be better wording, but that would make too much sense, I guess.

Your dealer doesn't sound like they know very much. And may not know how to do a software update properly.. They may have done your updates without an external 12 volt power source connected to the truck during the updates. If not done, this may cause borked updates.

I would suggest Team Ford in Las Vegas , best dealer and owners are off road racers , hardcore car guys .

I get shit happens but not to a new car.
That is most certainly not the case, at all. I don't even know where you would get that idea. While modern cars are far more reliable than of yesteryear they most certainly can have problems. We have a warranty for a reason....

That's not true.. some older model cars are better than new ones. Not all but some. But the warranty doesn't mean shit, if they can't figure out the problem. If it regular mechanic can't figure it out, I would be okay with it. But not a dealer. As a dealer you someone there talks to someone at the manufacturer like to order cars and shit. So someone has a direct line. They can't call and talk to someone that may know? Not excusable. I work in the firearms industry for over a decade. Every manufacturer I deal with direct I have a point of contact if I needed a question answer. There is one manufacturer nobody is a direct dealer for and that glock. I even know people from Glock that I can get direct answers too. So there is no excuse for a dealer not able to get answers. Shit, my friend has a 2013 raptor got it brand new back then. Tried to go into 4 wheel drive once. It's didn't engage... for years never needed until one time he was with me. Also didn't engage. Took it to a dealer and they had no idea what happened. This was 2018. It was a known problem. These guys fucking retarded

Mine did that @ 16,000 miles. Locked up. I have a post on this under SHIFT SYS FAULT. Ended up being bad transmission and controller . Now it’s in the shop again @ 34,000 miles for same issue. This time it’s the 40pin plug at the front left of the truck. Pins are all corroded and missing. This was in July, won’t see a new wire harness till November.🤬. I brought the tech a large tube of dielectric grease to fill the 40 pin full when they get it. I run my truck thru the car wash every day, I’m think bad spot for the 40 pin
