🤓 🤔 what is it with Ford and there recalls? Back in Sept. 2024, I got a notice on the rear view camera. Have heard nothing since. Today I got a notice on the battery problems, and it says no parts available? I wonder when they will get there act together? 🤔

Definitely frustrating. Just think of the dealers sitting on inventory. Majority of them paying interest on them as they sit there waiting for a fix and/or parts as well. I feel sorry for consumers wanting to buy them and can't. At the very least we are driving them but have to be aware the back up camera may not be working (use the mirrors).

🤓 I’ve had no camera problems, just saying.

Yeah me neither but after hearing of the recall, I don't rely on it, and I would highly advise to do the same. Basically if I remember correctly that's why Ford sent that letter.

It's usually very obvious when it freezes, the times that it happened to me was when I put the truck back into drive and it didn't shut the camera off.

Sorry to read that. Here is the catch if it freezes while backing up it's a false picture and distances. Especially in a parking lot if froze you would not see pedestrians walking is what I gather. Otherwise why would NHSA consider it a safety hazard. The letter was pretty vague.

Camera Fix... When they stock enough to fix them ALL ( New Cameras, mine will be the last one... ;)).

Battery Fix... When they stock enough to fix them ALL (my MY22 came with the replacment - AGM, Installed!!) :giggle:
I missed the cutoff date (Oct28, 2022) by three days... (build date - Oct31, 2022) :giggle:

There are regularly small lags that happen, the freezing is very infrequent. It's happened maybe 2-3 times in 2 1/2 years. At this point I just expect it and am cautious when backing up. I find the mirrors, particularly the in cab rear view mirror, useless for backing up. If I had to rely on them to park in a parking lot like I did with my previous vehicles, it would be hopeless due to how have I have to adjust them for normal driving. The blind spot mirrors (no co-pilot 360 on my truck) are great for regular driving, but are annoying for backing up. If the mirrors had memory settings it might be useful for me, but at this point they are not.

Did people get letters for the camera recall? I ask because I have not received anything. It does show on my app, it says recall and something about the camera but I never got an official letter. I'm assuming I'm under it cuz my Maverick was built in June of 2024.

Quality has been Job 1 at Ford since the early 1980s. Or so they've told us.

I don't rely on my backup camera. To be frank 90% of the time, it's useless from snow, salt, sludge this time of year in Northern Michigan. I rely on my side mirrors and do not have an issue with them. It may be because my last vehicle had a cap for 16 years and I relied and used the side mirrors, so use to using them.

I did enjoy it during the summer if it didn't rain. In that situation the same thing the backup camera is useless.
