Rear License Plate Issues?

Has anyone took serious measures to correct the poor design and complete lack of engineering for mounting the rear license plate - it’s a requirement to exhibit a legal license plate so how could Ford ignore this.

I haven’t had time to address this yet but thinking I will drill the plastic and install some metal inserts so I can securely fasten the plate using (4) screws verses the (2) top screws the dealership slapped on, the existing design looks like it will only turn into a mess when changing plates out - I would love to see some photos of your solution…

I just installed my plate from the temporary tag on Saturday and I had to go buy longer screws as I had the same problem.

Thanks for the reference this is a front license plate bracket although I’m sure it would also work for the rear (no front plates required here in Florida)

You can use it anywhere. I used it on the rear. Just drill a few holes in new locations, then use the self tapping screws to attach the bracket. The plate mounts to the bracket with 4 machine scews. All the hardware is stainless steel. It is absolutely perfect for the Maverick!

Has anyone had any issues with the rear plate screws and the plastic bumper? The dealer put on the original paper plate and then I had to get an extended paper plate while waiting on custom ordered plates. The plates arrived yesterday and when putting them on, it doesn't seem that the screws ever really tightened down. Just wondering if anyone else is seeing or having an issue?

Not really sure what you’re trying to say, but I don’t have any problems.
