I installed this net about 3 months ago, and it is working well. I use it to hold cam straps that I use to haul kayaks and canoes.

I used adhesive velcro to install.
It stays in place well enough to function for now, but it does lift off of the plastic more easily than I would like.

I am looking for a better adhesive, especially for the light grey interior plastic. Does anyone have a recommendation for something that could really adhere the velcro to the light grey plastic?

Did you buy or make the nets? 'Ive been looking for something similar to keep things from falling out of the front and rear pockets.

Well done, OP.

Not necessarily my flavor but definitely adds functionality and you've hidden the velro well.

I bought the net on Amazon, then altered it by folding one velcro over and hand-sewing it, so the velcro panels face in opposite directions.

This is the product I bought, but there are a million variations of it available. The material quality seems okay, though its construction isn't top quality. By that I mean, I might put a few stitches in places to hold it together better, and I don't use it to hold heavy things, so not sure if the elastic is going to hold up over time. But it is working great right now!

Does the velcro towards the front rub or touch the door paint?

Take a look at industrial strength Velcro. I've used it a few times and in addition to the hook/loop parts being stronger, the adhesive is super aggressive and sticky also. MUCH more than normal Velcro.

The way I have it positioned, the velcro does not touch the painted metal at all. If I stretched it further, maybe the edge of the velcro could touch the painted surface.
