Has anyone found a way to keep it from being unusable in the rain. When it rains it collects so much water that it’s not usable. Sidenote. Is there an option to where I can have a button to turn on the camera without going in reverse? That way I can view it while cleaning to make sure it’s fully clear.

You could try rain-x but the airflow is low so I would have relatively low expectations of it working anything like rain-x on the windshield.

Regarding turning it on and cleaning it, I've never had an issue just quickly wiping it off, even with my hands. But, no, your Maverick cannot turn on the rear camera unless you select reverse. The new 2025 with 360 cameras does have a button to turn on 360 or rear views while not in reverse.

Actually tried out of the cameras today on my way to work. I still view it largely as a novelty but I’ll give Ford props - the side view and rear view at 75mph were every bit as clear as my model 3 was.

My wife won't drive my Maverick because it doesn't have 360 view. Once you've used it for parking (her Volvo has 360), you'll never want to go back.

It's like a heated steering wheel in the cold. You go through 50 years on the road thinking "why would I want to pay for that frivolous rich person's toy?". Then you experience it. And then you're like "I'm not buying anything without a heated steering wheel.".

Get out and clean it.
Or use the mirrors.

How true in 62 years of driving this is my first vehicle with a heated steering wheel. When anybody asks about my new truck I say "I don't know how I ever drove a vehicle without a heated steering wheel". It'd great!

I wouldn't consider a vehicle without a heated steering wheel.
