When I received my Maverick, I went over everything before leaving the dealer. Of course I was anxious to start driving it, but did not want to wake up in the morning and find something I missed bringing to the dealers attention.

My wife lifted the rear bench on the passenger side to see if something would fit in the generous storage area and pointed out that the bottom of the bench had something popping out. Neither of us recalls seeing this before and I couldn't figure out what it is so I made an appointment with the dealer. According to the dealer, this is normal in all Mavs and sent me home. As you can see in the pictures, the driver's side is not like this.

Can anyone check their under bench liner and let me know if this is normal or not?

To clarify the images, this is when the bench is up and about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way down there is a "seam" for lack of better word. It does not separate like Velcro and there is no zipper or adhesive holding it for use to flatten by ourselves. It is towards the middle where the battery storage is.

a photo is completely necessary to offer any help or opinion.

there is a gauze-like material on the bottom of the bench. it's quite similar to the material underneath any upholstered furniture. beyond that, I have no idea what the original poster could be seeing.

I must admit this is one time that photo's don't help.
It's a funky pic but I believe he's complaining / concerned about the bunchy and imperfectly fitting carpet-like material under the bench seat bottom.

Normal. Bunchy because it doesn't fit perfectly, and it needs to have some give because it would stretch when opening and closing if it were tight.

Mine has significantly more imperfections than this. And no one should care because it doesn't harm anything and no one drives around with the bench up so you can see under it. 👍
