I’ve been mulling swapping my current spacer lift. Originally planned to go to Flatout coilover set but adding a teenage driver to the household and paying some out of pocket costs for an uninsured idiot hitting my other car have the finance boss giving me the side eye😂

I’ve lost hope that Eibach’s coil over kit will make it to market (have a huge gift card) and nobody is interested in making shocks I could pair with Eibach springs.

I don’t love RC spacer kits but know people who’ve been happy with their strut setups. Just wondering if their N3 shocks and struts are any better than FX4 stock, similar or worse? Didn’t find much on this topic so figured I’d see if anyone here had info/thoughts.

I cannot speak on Maverick specific shocks. But I installed the RC strut lift system on our patriot and it was horrible. Brutal banging and popping over bumps both front and rear. Installed KYB shocks and Moog springs and all was great again. I would just get the eibach springs on the FX4 shocks (supposedly higher quality than base models), and call it a day. As long as the springs keep the rake so 2 inch front and 2 inch rear.

Why not Eibachs and Tremor shocks? Slightly longer, better vavling, with a extra internal bumpstop.

Eibach does not make struts or shocks for the Mav do they? Tremors for sure....Eibach only makes the springs.

I dont see why the springs wouldnt fit the Tremor strut. The wire diameter is a lil bigger for Tremor, buy the eibachs probably are aswell. So it should be a good match. Just need a guinea pig!

I was agreeing with you on the tremor shocks. But stating there is no Eibach shock available.

Gotcha. I do think adding the springs to the tremor gear and installing them in any Maverick is a good upgrade. Compression rates are significantly improved, im sure that it would be to the point that someone could actually feel it if they had a version of each rear shock in hand and did a against the ground pressure test. They arent going to be a FOX or Bilstein shocks but they are gonna be better for sure.

Agreed. I actually think The tremors would be close to the bilstiens. Every set of bilstiens I owned were lackluster to me.

Yeah I had thought about swapping some of the Tremor stuff but there were a few reasons I didn't look at it real close:

1. Hadn't seen anyone do it and I wasn't keen to be the guinea pig
2. Last time I did look with my local dealer, the parts were really hard to obtain
3. My truck is 4k tow and from what I had seen, the softness of the Tremor setup was part of the reason it isn't offered with 4k (along with the radiator change, etc). I don't use it often but I do tow some stuff from time to time and don't want to create issues I don't need to.

Agree the most likely outcome I'll end with is swapping Eibach springs on and seeing if anything ever happens with replacement shocks. Unless I circle back to Flatout and decide to sleep on the couch for an extended period of time

I would be curious if the Eibachs maintain the load capacity. Also one of the interesting thoughts is companies that offer overload springs like Flat Outs budget kit.

Just use the tremor shocks. They don't change the payload, towing capacity of your rig. Just make it control the weight better as they are upgraded and a little longer for the lift. I think it will be perfect with the eibachs.

We had a change of plans as we were recently gifted for a very low cost a 2016 F150 FX4 screw 5.0. So the mav is out for us right now. We are going to be building that for our rig now. Adding a 3" rancho adjustable lift, 35s, raptor bumper, grill, fender flares and some overland gear. It will be nice actually to have some extra towing capability for a bigger camper if we want. Something like a Nobo 19 fter.

For what it's worth there are a lot of people here who have installed the RC strut kit and I have yet to see a single complaint.

I hope they don't. Just giving my experience with their product on my personal rig.
