We went on vacation from the 13th thru 21st in Tennessee. Spent a couple of days in Nashville and the rest in the Sevierville/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area.

There we’re a LOT of pickup trucks being driven. A lot of Heavy Duty trucks pulling campers via bumper or 5th wheel, many half ton for mixed use of personal/business/ campers, and quite a few mid size running around as well. I was happy to see that a significant number of them were Ford‘s. Saw some Tremors in all forms; F-350, F-150, & even a Ranger.

The number of Maverick’s seen over the 8 or 9 days was… you guessed it… ZERO. Not a single one. I did see 4 Santa Cruz pick ups though, I still do not care for their styling.

Stopping at my dealer on Monday to discuss selling my Ranger to them or holding until Maverick arrives. Was told they have approximately 80 orders still unscheduled clean and have 20 allocated for May. I am guessing a fall delivery at this point, if I decide to buy it. I am still on the fence about cancelling and ordering a 2023 Hybrid instead.

Thanks for listening. I missed the message boards for two weeks and have a lot of catching up to do…

EDIT: The Chrysler Pacifica we rented was a 2018 with about 35k on it. Had an intermittent wiring issue with the back up camera flickering at times and the transmission shifted hard several times, once downshifting while climbing up I-40 so harshly that I thought it is was toast…

I think many people who live in cities don’t realize that the vehicle of choice for Americans is a pick up truck. A LOT of trucks are sold each year, even in states most wouldn’t think of, like Pennsy and New York.

Long Island has their fair share but nothing lIke the rest of the country I am sure. Limited parking does not help I am sure.

If you can believe Ford, allocation is no longer applied to Maverick orders, FIFO vs constraints = build order now.

If you don't have your current order by August, I would go ahead and order the hybrid anyway, AND keep your current order. When it comes in, drive it until the hybrid comes in, then decide which to keep. Options are good in this market!

Upstate is a different story than Brooklyn and Queens I would guess lol. I know New Jersey, Maryland, and Connecticut usually have the least. I think Wyoming and Montana are near the top. By volume, California is number one.

Agreed 100%. I doubt I will have it by August and am ordering the Hybrid regardless and will go from there.

Western NJ has a lot, Hunterdon and Warren Counties at least. “Upstate” New York, well anything north of Rockland County will have a lot of trucks for sure.

I cannot speak for Montana and Wyoming as I have not been to the Mountain West yet, maybe next year. I would imagine a truck is a necessity for any rancher or farmer. Even a regular Joe homeowner as trucks are very practical.

Grew up in Sussex County and now live in Ocean County. Certainly more in Northwestern New Jersey and in South Jersey. Once Ford can crank these out after the parts shortage ends, I actually think they will sell a ton of these to New Jerseyans. My commute is 60 miles a day and I can’t wait to get my hybrid. On its best day, my 2012 Chevy Colorado was probably at 23 mpg. I can see many people going for a $20,000 hybrid just to use as a vehicle, not even that focused in on the truck aspect.

Don't write off Texas for pickups.
Texas is the King of Pickup Trucks, something like 25% of sales are in the State alone.
