....over a 50% increase on the base vehicle price for options is not tremendous value. It's a scam. No options add that much to the cost or value over the base vehicle.
Without getting tooo far off topic… if you wanna talk about scams… your bio says you own a mini cooper 😂 kidding kidding…. Mostly kidding

Ford's inflation can be a funny thing...long awaiting customers just might give up from their abuse and never come back.

A turbocharged gas engine, all-wheel drive, bed liner, improved suspension, upgraded tires, etc. All scams.

Uh, OK.

This tread got me wondering what a Ranger and F-150 would cost me for a build that's close to my XLT Lux Mav. Paid 27k

The Ranger would be $37k a 25% increase non hybrid
The F-150 would be $53k almost double the cost hybrid.

For me the Mav fits my need perfectly.

Ranger was the "entry" level for trucks, when it was eventually redesigned what happened? It might take a couple cycles. But yeah it's guaranteed.

And you just said the starting MSRP for an F150 is 29k...that already means the ranger is in F150 range...and Maverick is close when optioned up.

The base xl would be an awesome value...with factory cruise, they 100% left that off to push most buyers to a higher trim. They'll try to keep the XL MSRP below 20k for this design cycle just for the publicity, but it'll be higher next cycle. And really the MSRP is 21.1k, since the shipping/delivery charges are not optional.
read it again and you will see I compared both Maverick and Ranger OPTIONED the way I would want vs. F-150 XL base (Single cab) MSRP.

Apples to Apples comparison with Crew Cab XL versions looks like this:

Maverick $19955 + $1495 destination
Ranger $27900 + $1295 destination
F-150 $37000 + $1695 destination

Neither my Optioned Maverick or Optioned Ranger build is anywhere close to F-150 XL crew with NO options.

Untrue. The price increase from the video mentioned was for 22 incoming inventory. 2023 will for certain be another increase
Yes but if you watch Tim's video from yesterday it's all about price protection for trucks that are already ordered

The price for them yes. Those upgrades are worth 4k more over the base components. Not 11k+.

I looked at the Ranger before I ordered my Maverick. XLT with every option package, comparable Ranger was $12434 more.
I did the same price comparison: 2022 Maverick XLT Hybrid vs 2021 Ranger XLT SuperCrew

2022 Maverick XLT Hybrid: $24620
2021 Ranger XLT SuperCrew: $31,990

The 2021 Ranger XLT SuperCrew is $7,370 more expensive and lacks the Hybrid powertrain that the Maverick has.

The 2022 Ranger XLT SuperCrew costs $33,140 or $8,520 more expensive.

The Ranger is also 11 inches longer which would have resulted in it not fitting in my garage.

I previously owned a 1998 Ford Ranger XLT SuperCab. It was 203 inches long and just barely fit in my garage. The Maverick is 3 inches shorter and it fits great in my garage.
