I just picked up my 2024 Atlas Blue XLT Hybrid today. Kind of quirky question I have but on the dial shifter when I shift back to park the dial does not stop. It goes in to park but it turns as much as I want. Is this normal? I have to check our 2020 Edge when I get home which has a dial shift to see if that does it as well.

Yes this is normal. At least mine is the same way. Same when you go to drive. It can keep spinning

Yup. Normal operation. Takes a little getting used to, but it becomes second nature after stopping the vehicle when parking to just give it a quick counter-clockwise spin into park.
It also does spin clockwise past drive forever, but, no it will not shift into Park going clockwise. At least mine hasn't yet.....

Normal. It weirded me out when I got a rental Expedition and the dial DIDN'T infinitely spin. :D

Yes, normal. A little strange at first but you'll soon get used to it. Are you used to the brakes yet? You'll learn to use them along with the power gauge to get the best return.

Thanks. Just thought the dial was odd. I do like that brake coach setting.

Your head lamp switch will do the same thing. And your heater control will do the same thing. Just hope your steering wheel does not do it. You will get use to it.😊

My '24 FX4 2.0 EB does the same. I put it down to having an electronic shifter. I've gotten in the habit of looking at the indicator above the steering wheel.

As others have said it is normal for the Maverick. However, the continuous spin is especially odd because my wife has a 2022 Edge and that rotary dial shifter does not work the same. The Edge rotary dial has hard stops at Park & Drive, so you can't keep rotating right past Drive or left past Park. It's more convenient because if you want to go to Park or Drive you just rotate it quickly until it stops. When I first got my Maverick I also thought there was something wrong with the rotary shift dial because it didn't have hard stops like the Edge. Not sure why Ford doesn't use the same set up on the Maverick.

You get used to it very quickly. No need to look down, either - just reach down for the dial and twirl to the right for drive or to the left for Park. If you want to verify what drive mode you're in, just look at the instrument cluster display, instead of having to look all the way down at the console.
It soon becomes second nature.

yep - that way when/if you give it a good hard twist it won't break. Enjoy your new ride!

Yep, it's normal. At least normal for the Maverick. Rented a Bronco Sport the other day and its dial stopped. I liked that much better, but meh, not a deal breaker.
By the way, not a "quirky" question. Never fear to ask and never fear your questions are not valid.

Also if you have push button start, just hit it and it goes into park.
