Oh my - need a new chart since the manual references the 99R T4 - since that's what is in it.

This one is better.
https://batterygroupexpert.com/battery-group-size-chart-and-cross-reference-table/

Also some product in the alt size. Considering the truck system is tagged for an AGM battery, the H4 would likely have been it.

OK so looks like we need reverse terminals and size: 8 1/8 x 6 15/16 x 6 15/16 or 207 x 175 x 175.

H4 is 1/2" deeper (higher) so that may fit. There is a slight possibility a sealed H5 would fit with it's larger reserve but you'd have to rework the connections.

I'm curious about this as well, since there are often times larger batteries that tend to be cheaper and perform better.

I believe we need a vented type, correct? Since it's in the cabin. Either that or maintenance free I believe.

ya, 99R and and 140R means positive on Right. The DIN sizes don't designate that, maybe that's standard for them.

H4 was the size that several members had in their truck from factory, early ones. The smaller cheaper ones. So for sure fits. Caused confusion in threads until pictures appeared. Made in Spain, perhaps the reason for H4.
Seems there may even be a tad more height available, but I sure wonder if that's about max at 190 or so.

I don't think it's so much the larger is cheaper - as more commonly used and more quantity made and more competition so is cheaper and more options for better specs.

There are some more powerful batteries out there odd sized too that are expensive - just few options.

Vent tube plumbing indeed required.
Some plastic upper covers that you can tell are separate from the main battery have a hole in side for that, others I can't make it out, and it seems they have vents on that cover instead. I'll have to examine in person as I can't tell on most pics after reviewing some.
I think I see it here.

Not sure if on the end here.

Everything I've read on Motorcraft is their quality is good, and it's readily available for good prices. So I'm personally sticking with it for things like filters, oil, coolant, brake fluid etc.
Yes, reasonably so... with the possible exception of batteries? 🤪
I bought a case of FL910S filters for $3.55 each at RockAuto.

I measured on mine, you have almost an 1" of play although there is something that sticks up above that and it may intrude on the seat bottom, but that could be drilled out.

I'm sure someone will correct me but I believe you can install a maintenance free battery (sealed lead acid aka SLA) that isn't vented safely.

Good job, How about checking any parameters through the OBD2 scanners. Base line it now then check it once a year?

Not sure pulling OBD2 data would do anything, not sure what it would show tbh. Generally done if you have CEL. Maybe checking for codes that aren't fully set? Might be a good idea.

Here is where I'm at. It's designed to print in duplex (front/back) so first two pages are together, then the entry pages are printed (and more can easily be printed later) followed by the 6/12 month pages which will be printed as needed to fill in.

Not codes but operating parameters, Like temps

@HeyBales
Very slick.

Now - how much will you charge Ford for officially using that on their site?

I guess like tire pressure that could be useful.

Morning of frequent inspection work - get a battery reading for V and maybe SOC%.
Let's you catch a bad direction before it matters.
But even running Volts on the hybrid is so variable depending on what BECM thinks the battery needs, seems like not useful.
Kind of like recording tire tread depth, for comparing to other tires later perhaps.

I'd think temps could have so many variables as to why the reading, hard to duplicate.

There are some PIDs related to battery age or hours of use, but nothing actionable from it, just knowing.
