After my third oil change I decided on modifying my skid plates with a ValvoMax M12-1.75 quick change valve and a 4" round cutout for my oil filter.

I’ve considered an oil filter cutout on my hybrid. With the shield off I noticed it doesn’t like to drain straight down. Do you have any problems like that?

It could happen. Mines a EB. I crack the filter and unscrew until it the oil starts running, it flows to the lowest point on the filter and straight down, although my FX4 is level when I change the oil.

Punch a hole in the bottom of the filter with a screwdriver or punch, it’s not thick

OR... you could just take off the skid plate and change your oil. It's not that much more time and you can inspect things like the CV axils for leaking boots (like my 2024 has; btw I've been waiting on a part since Christmas. Seriously; everyone needs to look for leaking grease boots.
