  1. Quick oil change

It could happen. Mines a EB. I crack the filter and unscrew until it the oil starts running, it flows to the lowest point on the filter and straight down, although my FX4 is level when I change the oil.
  2. Quick oil change

After my third oil change I decided on modifying my skid plates with a ValvoMax M12-1.75 quick change valve and a 4" round cutout for my oil filter.
  3. PSA: oil change on FX4 Maverick requires skid plate panels removal

Hi Trailmaster, The cover came on the skid plate. It's nice because it just unclips and you slide it off.
  4. PSA: oil change on FX4 Maverick requires skid plate panels removal

Here's the ValvoMax for my FX4. I cut the skid plate a little which you can see outlined with white paint.

Thanks for the info. The mount looks robust enough.
  6. Super Easy Flat Tow Setup w/ Roadmaster Nighthawk, Demco Stay-in-Play Duo SBS

Yep, can't use the rear hitch because I tow a 20' Lance travel trailer. The bed is full of wood. The trailer bumper is too weak. Don't care about the cost, just need something that will hold 125 lbs.
  7. Super Easy Flat Tow Setup w/ Roadmaster Nighthawk, Demco Stay-in-Play Duo SBS

Hi, I can't tow my EB but was wondering if anybody used a baseplate as a, lets say removeable bicycle mount?
  8. Engine cover & DIY strut tower brace

Hi Max, With the strut bar installed the round black thingy and the flex hose would rattle against the strut bar pulling my 19' Lance travel trailer. I had to also trim the engine cover around the black thingy. Your 2.0 badge is nice! Mike
  9. Anyone tapped factory bed light to power aftermarket under-rail LEDs?

Hi, do you think it's possible to make the DIY power plugs hot from remote start or possibly trailer power hot? That way I could charge my trailer battery without going outside.
  10. Engine cover & DIY strut tower brace

Your right. My grandkid just missed having his head bonked. I got the strut right away after that happened.
  11. Engine cover & DIY strut tower brace

If yer talking about the cover, it keeps the dust off the coils and looks cool. My with calls the cover fooferaw!
  12. Engine cover & DIY strut tower brace

Mercury 2.0. I made the badge from 1/8 aluminum. The screw to hold it down was from leftover TV wall mount screws with a spacer I made to put under it.. The 2 ball mounts that were on the engine fit perfect. Thats all ya need tp hold it on. I got my cover on ebay from a Ford dealership
  13. Engine cover & DIY strut tower brace

The materials were $77. I made the bar for fun but I also have a lathe. Yes it was worth it. The strut bar, Steeda rear sway bar, and Timbren rear springs with a 1/4" preload. The Mav really corners. 35mph corners @ 70, yahoo!
  14. Engine cover & DIY strut tower brace

I didn't. What I do know is that pulling or pushing the rod front to back 1/4" causes the strut tower near the top to move inboard .0015. I don't know if thats per side as I can't set up 2 dial indicators at once. I don't have anyway to move the tower without the rod attached.
  15. Engine cover & DIY strut tower brace

3/4" aluminum. I hope these pictures help. You have to make a bracket also

  17. Just towed trailer 200 miles with XLT EcoBoost 4K Tow AWD (Santa Cruz to Lucerne CA through 3 mountain passes)

I usually use Motorcraft oil semi-syn in the Fords, but the Pennzoil is about the same price, so why not.
  18. Just towed trailer 200 miles with XLT EcoBoost 4K Tow AWD (Santa Cruz to Lucerne CA through 3 mountain passes)

Thats good to know. I've only changed the oil once but I'd like to go 7500, at least.
  19. Just towed trailer 200 miles with XLT EcoBoost 4K Tow AWD (Santa Cruz to Lucerne CA through 3 mountain passes)

Also the oil life went down 5% in 200 miles which is about 4000 miles between oil changes.
