hey guys, new here. I bought a 2024 maverick a month ago and it has what I believe to be the factory plastic bed liner. it does say ford on it so I can only assume factory unless some aftermarket company paid for the licensing??

anyway. I bought a retractable tonneau cover for the bed off ebay. this specific one:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/365950188294

after looking at their "video" on the listing it shows them popping some plugs out of the bed cover to run the drains. I see no such drains anywhere in my bed liner.

I looked online and found a reddit post that I "think" shows me where they are? here:

so it appears I need to manually drill holes in the bed liner after I take off the sides and pop the factory drain hole plugs out?

my main question is how do I get the sides off? to I just pull the strap points off and the side will just sorta slip out or something?

The OEM bedliner is installed in pieces. I would just remove it and do what you need to do and reinstall. I have the OEM spray in liner.

I have the same liner in my ‘23. Just leave it the way it is. Dont chance drilling holes in the plastic and hitting the metal bed. It’s not that serious. It’s a truck bed, it’s gonna get dirty and wet.

Here is a picture of where the drain plugs are. Tomorrow I will get a measurement if I remember, what was I saying 🤣

If you zoom in you can see the drain hose in the plug. I would remove your drop in as suggested and measure the hole location and drill just a large enough for the hose. I will warn you there is going to be water getting in the bed unless you do a thorough seal of the bulkhead. Here is my thread on doing it with a lick to the video from @Realtruck .
