It doesn't do as good as you'd expect. Even a rubber mat would do a better job.
I have the rubber bed mat over my SIBL, works great. Easy to remove and reinstall, hoses off easy.

I bought the bed liner yesterday, $170, 20% off that, free delivery to a dealer, used Ford Reward points, got it free. Now all I need is a truck.

I'm doing something similar to the carpet on my Maverick, except I'm using astroturf for it. Makes sliding stuff in and out super easy.

I used the bed mat and am very happy with it. The Tonneau cover keeps 99.9% of the water out.

That's what I do, although I'm lacking the tonneau cover...I've seen our labs work trucks with drop ins and spray in liners, they all rust away...why a spray in would rust? Sometimes these guys drop heavy stuff, like always tossing big wrenches or pipes or metal tool boxes that eventually gouge the spray in, leaving metal exposed, to eventually rust. Drop ins just take time too with the dust and grit that make its way underneath to rub away surface paint etc. I just use a horse stall mat I cut to shape. Every once in a while, pull it out and wash out the bed and inspect for any damage under it. I just don't ever toss things in my bed either. Always careful with that. I do like the idea of the bedrug though. I've heard good things about them.

My 2024 XLT came with the drop in bed liner and I'm not really a fan of it. Before I bought it I had tossed around the idea of getting spray in and throw a mat down for protection but have seen a lot of folks say they really like bed rugs. I was going through the Ford accessories trying to figure out what to spend my rewards points on and saw the bed rug and decided to get it.

Arrived today so I ran out and picked it up. I was concerned that with my retractable tonneau it might be a pain in the arse to remove the bottom tray. Wasn't too bad, just had to take out the two hex heads in the corners and the lower rear tie downs in the back and the bed D-rings up front. Then it was a matter of manhandling the liner out from underneath the side walls. Tailgate part was just 8 star head bolts and the sink washers. (note: I got lucky I had some regular washers that fit to reinstall the plate that covers the latch mechanism that the liner is mounted to.)

After cleaning out some pine needles and debris and drying out the bed, I got to installing the rug. Putting it in, the hardest part is the fact that it was rolled up in the shipping box and does NOT like to flatten out.

The bed rug comes with industrial hook and loop strips, 2 long ones for the bed and a bunch of short 2" strips for the tailgate. I initially installed it without the bed strips and it slid into place super easy, but decided that was probably a mistake. So I lifted it up, eyeballed where they should go, laid them out, the tried to get the liner back in the right spot. It's much harder once the hook and loop is in place because it's very grabby, and very strong. But some wrestling and I got it in.

After that it was just a matter of lining up the hook and loops for. The tailgate. What I did for that was I attached the small pieces to the loop strips on the bed rug, then took the backing off the bottom strips and laid the rug in the right spot and pressed down to glue the strips to the bottom of the tailgate. The I did the same with the top. They lined up perfectly.

Whole project probably took an hour by myself, though part of that was cleaning the bed and drying it after removing the liner. And looking for washers that fit.

Extremely happy with the final product. SO much easier on the knees if I'm climbing around in the bed (which I've started to realize is pretty much only when I'm installing stuff like the tonneau and the liner...), cargo doesn't slide around, and I feel like it will actually protect the bed much better. I may eventually still get a spray in and then put this in over the top, but as Billy Blazejowkski would say "this one's better because it's free".

Definitely a nice cheap option if you have no bedliner. Glad I didn’t opt for any of that.

Here's a few of my trips to and from work. Those are all I still had pictures of. I'll get a shot of my overall when I get a chance. I was running late today and heavy on the pedal and still got 64.

I'm down to 50.5 on my overall average because I've been driving up to the pass to go snowshoeing. By end of winter I wouldn't be surprised if my overall average drops to closer to 45 with all the trips up to the mountains

Come summertime I'm expecting to regularly hit 80+ again on my commute. My best full tank mileage was 725 when all I did was my work commute. I've seen several people who are getting 800 miles on a tank. That's mind boggling.

If the Bronco could get half that...

Looks very good and with a tonneau cover should work well. How many reward points did your "free" bedliner cost???:)
47800 rewards points. I have the Ford Rewards credit card, I use it to pay my car insurance and gas, which gives I think 10% and 5% in rewards points so I rack up points pretty quickly.

I really like this set up! I like the look of the modular/rug hybrid. I’m in a dry desert area so the water won’t be that much of an issue. However, I plan to install the bed cover first and see if I can correct any leakage before installing the rug.

Well done
