What is the truncated pyramid thingy on the center of the dashboard just aft of the windshield?
(P.S. I climbed the tallest pyramid near Cairo on my way out of Africa on my way to Nam)

Here's my guess - light sensor that turns the automatic headlights on and off.

That is the ambient light sensor. Used for the auto lights and factored into calculating desired vent temp for the HVAC.
