I placed my order today with my dealer. As we reviewed the list of packages and options he said that I was getting a hard drop-in bedliner. I mentioned that the XLT Luxury package contained the spray-in bedliner but the package now said drop-in bedliner. He couldn't even order the spray-in bedliner separately.

My guess is that this is fallout from the gas tank recall caused by faulty spray-in bedliner installation. (There is a separate post on the recall - https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...-456-units-w-spray-in-bedliner-affected.6883/)

I intend to check with my dealer next month and see if he can modify the order. Not sure if that can be done.

Anyway, glad to be getting my truck soon!

Nope that cannot be changed. Ford modified the xlt luxury package a month or so ago changing sprayin for the drop in. Sprayin may be available in the Lariat luxury. Fordvideoguy mentioned it on his videos and podcasts and on here as well. Link below. I’ve heard good things about Rhino linings.

Ask the dealer if he has local contacts that can do the spray in bed liner when the truck is delivered. Mine is doing that.

That's annoying. Ford could've at least updated their online configurator to reflect that.

My dealer has a LineX contact he uses for customer trucks. I think I will give the drop-in a spin and see how I like it before getting the spray-in.

Spray in bed liner materials have been a constraint from early on in production. I’m assuming the fuel tank recall the straw that broke the camels back. Even if you could change it you may not want to. Your order would certainly take longer to get. As orders have been going you could hope for a summer delivery. Congrats on your new pick up truck!

edit - did you confirm MSRP with your dealer? Who are you buying from? Did you get a buyers order signed with out the door costs? Do you know about x plan pricing? Did they take a copy of your driver license?

Hey There,

FYI, just wanted to point something out to you that you may want to discuss with your dealer.
That itemized list of your XLT order has a Equipment group 300A as separate line item. I have seen that listed separately on some shady dealer websites. It is not a stand alone item. I is part of the XLT package and is INCLUDED in the price.
The 300A is the specific equipment that is INCLUDED in an XLT package, as opposed to, (for example) 500A in the Lariat (also included for Lariat trims).

PSA to you, have that amount reduced from your order as it already built into initial price of any XLT. If you would like to see that for yourself, you can go o Ford.com and 'build' an order, and you will see the cost of the actual line items and what the total SHOULD be.

That line item is what determines the XLT trim. It would be 500A if it were a Lariat but it would be there as well. I did build my Mav using the online tool first then took that to the dealer. The features did match up (less the bedliner) as did the price. That $3,305 amount matches up to adding Ecoboost and AWD to the build price of the base Hybrid XLT.

I will ask him about it though and thanks!

I know see it's the supply chain delays. I'll try out the drop-in since it is part of the package. To your questions -

did you confirm MSRP with your dealer? Yes. MSRP as reflected in the online tool. He checked to make sure the acquisition fee wasn't counted as the website assumes a lease. Kudos there. No money needed to place the order.

Who are you buying from? Local dealer in Dale, IN (Sternberg Ford)

Did you get a buyers order signed with out the door costs? No. The final price can also be adjusted by future rebates. I have copies of the original paperwork should they try to "add-on" on arrival. Not too concerned as the dealership is very reputable and word-of-mouth recommended.

Do you know about x plan pricing? I do but I don't qualify.

Did they take a copy of your driver license? Yes. I can see that as needed to verify identity/residence and likely a Ford requirement.

Never heard of the dealer but I am skeptical after being messed around by 2 reputable dealers.

I recommend signing up for Mustang Club of America. Their $50 membership comes with X plan after you have been a member for 3 months. You will very likely wait at least 3 months. Before signing up verify your dealer will honor x plan.

Fords online configurator is absolute garbage. Mine wouldn’t save my build as I built it. Sent to the dealer and he opened my saved build and up comes a base lariat in black. Tried at least a dozen times. Also, Ford announced the price increases but why couldn’t they change it on their own website?
I ordered the lariat lux pkg and it comes with the spray in bedliner. Id chuck the drop in liner in the garbage before I used one of those. Definitely get your dealer to spray it in, you’ll be way happier.

That's where Ford's WBDO system categorizes the charge for an Ecoboost AWD. Notice that the Maverick XLT AWD price is the $22,360 of a Hybrid XLT (because it is the standard engine). Then the Ecboost + AWD is considered a $3305 option. It's reflected similarly on the window stickers.

I ordered XLT Lux in November. My order sheet shows the hard drop in liner like yours. There was a notice a few days before my order that this would be the case with all XLT Lux orders after a certain date. This was before the fuel tank recall. AFAIK Lariat Lux still comes with the spray in liner.

You will hate the drop in liner. Any water under it will cause fenderwell and box rust. Trust me on this one.
