Backstory, used to be into car audio in HS, way before vehicles had all the fancy elec. they do now. Haven't had a proper stereo in years.

I want to do something that will sound way better than stock, but being budget conscious at the same time.

Here's what I'm considering:

Front Doors - 6.5" Coaxils - Focal RCX
Rear 4"'s- Focal RCX
2 Channel Amp for 6.5's - Rockford R2 - 50x2
Kicker HS10

A few questions, I know I'll need a remote turn on wire, where do I tap that from? Does the head unit have anything to tap for that, or is it better to tap a switched ignition source?

Also have seem some references to a LOC - which I assume enhances the speaker level inputs that would go to the amp/sub amp?

Both that amplifier and the HS10 have automatic turn-on capability so you shouldn't need to hook up a remote wire. They also have hi-level input capability so you don't necessarily need a line out converter, but some people like the LC2i to boost bass at higher audio levels where the factory head unit starts to reduce bass to protect the stock speakers.

Perfect! Have never used the auto turn on before, so that will be nice not having to run an extra wire.

Also should be fairly easy to run w/ the hybrid battery under the seat.

I'm guessing there are connectors I can use to tap the rear speakers for the speaker inputs, then is the best method to run rca's from one amps (that the speakers intput to) output to the the others input?

The R2 manual doesn't appear really explicit on if the pass-thru output works with hi-level input to daisy chain that way. To be clear: you're effectively going to run everything off the rear channel signal? The infotainment system might get grumpy about not having something on the front channel.

My plan was to tap the rear speakers for signal, run new speaker wires from the front coax's to the amp, and run the speaker inputs into that amp, then output the signal from that amp to the kicker for signal.

The rear speakers won't be amped, just for a little rear fill, also plan on unplugging the factory tweeter in the dash

If it would make things cleaner, I have no issues on adding an LC2i

The HS-10 would be best fed from the front speaker outputs and before amplifying. That, or with the LC2i, but either way not from the rear speakers.
