Press clutch to start!

I own a 22 xlt fx4 tow package. A few weeks ago i left home and i forgot to engage tow haul mode (was towing utility trailer) so i was going probably 20 mph when i engaged the tow mode. I kinda missed it on first pass i kinda fumbled it , so i pushed the button until i got it engaged then i got the beep and the message read PUSH CLUTCH TO START!
I can only assume that ford must have a manual car in another market that shares the same computer ??
Still, what a tease!

For the record i now have 45,000 miles or so and its been trouble free, great little truck.
