So I got a call from the dealer to ask if I wanted to come in and get the paperwork done. The truck has been built and is scheduled for delivery after April 23rd. I asked what all was involved and they stated that it would basically be taking care of "all" the paperwork, financing, registration, etc.. I kind of like the idea because I would be able to take advantage of the military rebate that is about to expire. Has anyone done this?

I would *not* do this without some kind of clause that let's you back out of the deal. What if the truck arrives damaged? Defective?

Like the other post says if you want to do it make sure there is someway to cancel the deal still. Vehicles have been damaged in transit and refused at rail head or dealer. You wouldn't want to be stuck in something if the truck needs to be reproduced and end up being many months longer wait for the replacement.

Nope.

Don't even touch financing until the vehicle is delivered to the dealer. Either you would end up taking out a loan early (bad idea) or you'd start the clock on pre-approvals (generally ~30 days).

The paperwork is part of finalizing the transaction, which requires the vehicle present.

Don't buy a truck the dealer doesn't even have yet. Just don't.
