So, if anybody still cares everybody was wrong. To be clear, this failed at 3000 miles and again at 8000 miles after being fixed… all of my driving has been in spring and summer clear weather and the system would simply crap out.

Now at 15,000 miles I have been driving with a system that has worked only for 10 to 15 minutes after I start up, After four visits, they finally replaced the cruise control module, and a BROKEN BRACKET that I think was damaged during production.
Good morning, Jeff! I would be glad to help you out with your Maverick concerns if you'd like. Just shoot us a direct message with your VIN and dealer name/location, and I'll get right on it. To send a DM, just click on our username and select "Start Conversation". Thank you

Update: ultimately it took four visits. They ordered a new sensor, and upon disassembly found that the bracket was broken. When we installed new bracket with a new sensor, the system is performing flawlessly. Based on a handful of other comments about a loose bracket, I would check the bracket first. Case closed after 17,000 miles.
