I just got my Maverick back after it was in the body shop getting hail damage repaired and I started getting both these warning messages:

Ford Maverick Pre-collision Assist Not Available message 20241016_135440

I've cleaned the windshield 3 times but the warning messages still pop up after a few minutes of driving, usually when the truck is facing direct sun or headlights.

The shop performed paintless dent repair (PDR) on most of the body, to include the roof. The truck was covered in white dust from buffing the paint and I know they had the doors open to reach the roof by the foot prints that were left on the door sills.

I'm thinking a bunch of the dust got into the sensor at the top of the windshield behind the mirror and is causing the collision detection system to throw the faults.

Does anybody know how to get the black plastic cover off? I'd like to see if I can clean the assembly out.

Take it to body shop!
They will clean it or pay dealer to reprogram it if the dentless repair cause the camera angle to change even very slightly.
