Seen a Facebook marketplace post where someone is selling their “order” from January for $1500. Post has window sticker and delivery date in November. Seller says they will go to dealership with you when truck is delivered, to give you their spot in line?

Doesn't sound right to me. Bottom line the dealer can do whatever they want with the vehicle even if it was ordered by him. He's assuming if you give him $1,500.00 the dealer will give it to you for the pricing he agreeded to. Why would a dealer do that when if he doesnt take it they can sell it for 5-10K over sticker as ADM

My understanding is if the person who placed the order doesn’t take the truck, dealership can sell to whomever they want, and don’t have to honor the pricing when order was placed????

It's not that they don't have to honor it, it's that Ford won't protect it. Ford has associated that truck with that customer and thus the dealer will only be charged the original invoice. But if that customer walks, then the dealer is charged today's invoice.

As others have said, I would stay away from this. No promise dealer doesn't have their own list of buyers should anyone walk.

My understanding is it can be bought by direct family member in same household. Spouse, kid that lives with you, etc. Don't think a stranger would work.

Avoid.

Correct. I was able to have my son that lives with me buy my first Mav from me while I wait for my second one that just shipped today...was told that only family members can buy and not a friend.
