POLL: Who reads their driver's manual?

Whenever I acquire a (new to me) car, I read the owner's/driver's manual front to back. I like to know every bit of detail about my car. It honestly shocks me when people have such nice cars and don't know how to operate half their features. Anyone else in the same boat as me?

Disclaimer. By front to back, I don't mean the Spanish translation portions Hopefully they are y hiding any juicy tidbits in there

I have a Lexus with a button just below the track pad that I can't figure out. I've read the manual 10 times and the wife looked it up once. We still don't know what it does.

The first thing I do is download the electronic version and sit here and read it on my laptop. The items I want to change I go out to the vehicle and change settings or adjustments according to what I read in the book. With all the electronic gadgets these days, I still don't understand how some of them work, but I do read the manual cover to cover or should I say first digital page to the last digital page.

Haynes manual’s are based on full tear downs aren’t they? I remember them being that way, maybe I am thinking Clymer for motorcycles. Probably at least several months likely longer

The real question is will I spoil the experience by reading the manual early when it gets posted online? Yes... Probably

I like to keep the PDF on my phone. So much easier to search for what you are looking for that way than the oft ambiguous paper index/TOC.

Yes they are. I'll be getting one. There's less and less I'm able to do on modern rigs. Maybe a starter. Drive lines. Brakes. Stuff like that. At least all the torque values are listed.
My days of pulling heads and dropping trannies are over.

Besides the OM for vehicles purchased new, I have obtained service manuals for them all(3) and for a couple vehicles purchased used.
I understand the OM may be embedded in the guts of the screen built into the dashboard.
Either way, someone spent a LOT of moolah having it created, and it should allow best and most effective use of the tool that is the vehicle complete, not just what you see at first glance. Little hidden gems... that may pay off.
