Heat works marvelousI know this is an old thread but. After a year and a half, today as I was getting out of the truck the wind blew the door back on me and I had something metal in my hand and put a nice white scratch in the top of the door panel a few inches behind the pull about 1/8 wide and an inch long. So... I lightly scrubbed it with a wet magic eraser, that helped a little, dried it with a cloth then took a lighter and passed the flame over the scuff for less than a second, then pause. After doing this 4 or 5 times it was back to the right color. Hit it again with a wet magic eraser and it's barely noticeable in direct sunlight, when the door is closed I can't see it at all.
