I would like to know if anyone here has gotten their 2023 Maverick from this dealership and if so did they honor the price protection and what did you have to do to have the price protected. My XLT hybrid is supposed to be ready for pick up within the next few days. I just asked the dealer about the price protection and was told there is no price protection but that he would look into it. Please help me prepare. Thanks.

I have an still unscheduled ‘23 rollover order in with them but they didn’t require a deposit so I’m not holding my breath. Shenanigans expected. We’ll see if/when it ever gets built. Best of luck and be sure to report back!

You can count on it. I will report back. I know my Maverick has arrived in Houston but is not yet at the dealer. I have to go out of town today so I am hopeful I can pick up my Maverick on Tuesday the 10th. Best of luck to you too!

You should have a signed copy of your COVP order preview. The only up charges should be from the Ford factory window sticker at current MSRP. Those normally get passed along to the buyer. Any private offers and or Farm Bureau discounts should come off of that price.

Thanks. My understanding is that the $500.00 ($480.00 because of the $20.00 wifi delete) that Ford added to the price sometime in 2023 and the $100.00 added to destination charge would be subtracted from the current MSRP.

I bought my 2023 lariat from Alex at Spring location. There was no upcharge over factory sticker. They were very nice to me letting me return a 2023 that I did not like and just charged the sticker difference in the two trucks. I find the photo of my beautiful hot pepper lariat with the black appearance package below my comment.

That’s a beautiful red. If I’d known my cyber orange was another name for school bus yellow, I might’ve ordered the red instead. I guess it’s saving Grace is the metallic in the paint. I am getting compliments on it and it’s easy to spot in the parking lots.

Quick update. I picked up my Maverick on Saturday. All I spoke with claimed to know nothing about the price protection available for the 2023 Maverick. I actually called Ford before going to pick up my Maverick and was told very specifically that price protection does exist but that you (the buyer) must ask the dealership to initiate price protection when placing the order. I did not specifically ask for it so I did not get it. It's just that claiming ignorance to the availability of price protection seems fishy to me. Other than that I got great service. No jacking up on any other fees or inclusion of other fees and car was turned over to me with a full tank of gas. All in all, the dealership did a reasonable job. I do no say they did a great job because my emails when checking status on the Mav were never answered.

Sadly Ford is zero help on this. What will ultimately happen is they show to Ford they sold to the COVP verified buyer and they will get a check for the price difference from when you ordered to when it was delivered. I think most sales managers know this and just see the easy profit margin, because most won't walk away from it if they scapegoat Ford.

I bought a cancelled order at Sewell in Odessa, and my ordered one was at an Autonation. I will drive back out to West Texas for any other new vehicle purchase, as Sewell was STELLAR, and Autonation was awful. Ultimately I paid half of the price increase, because I pushed the issue and got more on my trade to offset the increase, but Ford was ZERO help. I spent many hours trying to get someone to assist me before accepting that I could pay a bit more on a truck I waited 356 days for or walk. I will NEVER forget the 2 shitty dealers near me and their practices during COVID, when the car market normalizes and they lose their negotiating power it is going to hurt them.

That's good....

The dealer didn't do you a favor or fill with fuel as a courtesy, you paid for that full tank of gas, it's the "fuel charge" line on the invoice......

Both of you are right. I know that was an incredibly expensive tank of gas. And yes I suspect that they will get that extra money from ford. Even if I had asked for the price protection, it is ultimately up to the dealer to decide if they will transfer that savings to you. When it is time to purchase another, it is quite likely I will look elsewhere. I do remember these things and hope others will too.

Make sure you bring it over to Mytiburger on Saturday to park next to other Mavericks
