A google search located a high volume dealer an hour away that sells for MSRP. They will be ordering starting next month when ordering for 2023 starts, and my understanding is that the deposit ($500) secures my place in line, although I’m not guaranteed to get mine in order, depending on allocations of different trims, etc.

Order is hybrid XLT, spray in bedliner, hitch receiver, full size spare, in cyber orange.

Now, I wait. But glad to have the process started.

Recent leaked news from a supplier indicates that cyber orange may no longer be an available color option for 2023 MY Mavericks.

I would drop the spray in liner. if you really want it get it done after market. Rust proof place near me does it. 600 bucks. sure more but you might get delayed with it. the only dealer near me taking deposits before you can really place an order is a scumbag one. All the others say not until we can actually place an order then they take a deposit. Was at dealer yesterday. He said they think August 2nd is the day BUT he said they could change at any time.

Placing a deposit now and "pre-ordering" really does not accomplish much. We don't have access to the order guides to know what is changing and order banks don't open until 8/2.

Bed liner - the spray in looks very nice, but the only unpackaged thing I have ever hauled in the bed of my current truck (which has a spray in liner) are a couple of scoops of mulch. Strongly considering a bed mat instead.

Thanks for the heads up. I saw that and am prepared to adjust. There are some other colors I’d be ok with as well, but I’m just going to see.

That's exactly what I did. Saved myself $600 as the mat cost me $35.00 with the 20% off and the pass points applied. Another plus is I like the look of the silver bed sides.

Nice! I'm assuming that is the factory mat? It's nice that it also covers the tailgate. How does it attach there?

I figure the worst case scenario is that I severely scratch the bed and just have a liner sprayed in anyway, but seems like overkill for my use case.

Yes, the factory TPO mat. Would have been overkill for me also. It attaches via velcro to the bed and the tailgate. Which is nice so it can be removed if things get wet.

You're still just waiting till August 2 to order. Stop by your dealer and make sure he puts the order in that day and get the printed confirmation. Ya know, just keeping the honest, honest.

about that... sounds like you secured your spot on the individual list of the sales person you worked with- nothing more. It would be worthwhile to ask said sales person exactly how many people are already in front of you on their list + how many orders altogether taken at the dealer to keep things in perspective when they tell you how many months it might take to get built & delivered. IIRC, some of the dealers on here mentioned having a couple HUNDRED orders just at their dealership and the allocations thing can be a hold up.

You haven't ordered anything since the order banks aren't open and you allowed a dealer to make money with you while you wait...
If this works for the OP, he will be closer to the top of his dealer's or salesman's list.
If it doesn't work, he will have lost the interest he could have earned on $500 in 20 days.

Which is what? Less than a nickel at today's average bank money market rates.

You know, if I were ordering now and I thought putting down a deposit had the slightest chance of moving me up on the list, I'd be willing to pay 100 times that nickel. (A whole five dollars! Wow!;))

Thanks for the advice. I’ll be doing that for sure!
