Just went out and tried the key on my '24 XLT. (I bought new May '24) It works, turn to right to unlock. No problems, except for recalls, so have been very happy with the truck.
But as cold weather is on the horizon, I tried the remote start, it doesn't work! I do the lock then press the remote 2 times and all it does is blink red 3 times. Just at the dealer last week for an oil change.
Wish I knew then.
Anyone else with this issue? thanks
Did dealer install your Remote start using fob?

We had the exact same issue as Hazel127, although we have the '24 Hybrid XLT. Turns out the Battery was bad. The physical key issue may be that it just had not be used since we got the truck and was sticky; it apparently is not connected to the electrical system. Our truck has had multiple issues with the battery saver mode and was replaced by the dealer. They key fob seems to be OK, but it did not open the door when we got stuck. Did manage to access it through the FordPass app (go figure!). For issued a Service Bulletin #SSM-53801 with a software update in May 2025 for Mavericks built on or before February 17, 2025.
Correct, if battery is dead, physical key is there to still enter - as it's required to change the battery.

Fob can't work when battery is dead in truck, it can't hear the fob button press without receiver on.

But in all these posts about battery saver functions so the battery drain is reduced - not once heard about enough battery to leave modem on for remote access, but receiver for fob control is turned off. Keyless entry will disable the passenger side touch control, perhaps before the modem is turned off in deep sleep mode.
Very strange indeed.

Hope your battery was dead due to the ACCM that SSM is going to update.
Likely it's just the normal undercharging problem that eventually kills the FLA batteries.
So be ready next year!
Did you get a replacement AGM battery, or just another FLA since that's OEM?

Yes, I just checked the service order and the replacement battery is the BAGM-H4 one, which I presume means it's an AGM battery, and was covered under the warranty. Apparently this is different from what many owners have experienced until recently; don't know if it is a Ford-wide policy.

I have no idea. Factory installed?, as it's listed on window sticker.
Called the dealer last week, truck will be going in 2 weeks, they said they need it for the day, and to bring both keys. So I'll reply when I get some info.
Btw this truck came with an AGM battery. see photo

Ya - I knew you got the AGM - try not to show it off too much, hybrid drivers are in this thread.

I didn't realize remote fob start was a thing for the XLT in 24.
From Fordpass sure, they all are (well, unless you have a hybrid, then half the time).

Nice - it does appear to be new policy.

Throws off my whole time schedule though. Got new battery after abouts a year.
Planned on a 2nd & likely 3rd under warranty, then treat that final battery with some solar charging, maybe outlet too, keep it healthy for much longer than it's natural state.

Now I'll probably get an AGM next year, but it'll likely die just past the warranty throwing my plan off.
Well, there's always the radio and lights - but I didn't want to go nuts with abuse.

They'll probably have a BMS software update by then to take care of the issue, like 25's have.
Oh - I crack myself up, needed some humor today.

Went to the dealer this past Monday-Remote start not working.
No codes shown, but Tech notice that there were 2 updates. So, they did those and remote works fine now.
So, I don't know where the fault was, but all's well, right now.

Had this again today for the third time, it's so random I think it's actually a software bug and not something related to the battery. The second I turn the physical lock and open the door, the key starts working (and the truck starts the alarm countdown on the dash). Gonna try seeing if the dealer has any software updates for the truck.
