Has anyone here tried painting the cover for the cruise control radar that's on the front grill? If so, did it cause any issues?

It doesn't answer your question, but you caused me to flash back to my first few months of practicing law, uhm, a couple of years ago, yeah, that's it!

Anyway, one of the other attorneys I shared space with came back from traffic court laughing.

Some subgenus actually argued to the judge that the cop couldn't possibly have picked him up on radar, because he was driving a Stealth, and those don't show up on radar! 🤔

yeah, that's it; the USAF licensed top secret technology to Dodge for passenger vehicles . . .

(although there was a period (mid 80s?) in which the corvette mounted its radiator at a 45 degree angle. Combined with the fiberglass body, this significantly reduced its radar profile)

Thanks but I'm talking about actually painting black with clear coat to match the black appearance package strip (along with the rest of the grill).
I say 'Just Do It' and keep us updated somebody has to do it first.

It's on my to-do list, I'll let everyone know how it turns out both in pictures and if it messes up the ACC. LOL
Worse case scenario is a new grill.

You could run into a problem. You may have choose between aesthetics and a working adaptive cruise control.
Good Luck

Resin materials for ADAS millimeter-wave radar enclosures
Ford Maverick Painting the Radar Cover on the Front Grill? XYRON_whit
Development Grade AA181-16

Performance requirements for resin materials used to form millimeter-wave enclosures (radomes)
Vehicle-mounted radars comprise two main components: an antenna mount and an enclosure. The enclosure serves not only to protect the antenna mount, but also to send and receive electromagnetic signals; for this reason, it is often known as a radome.
Because the radome is the outermost component of the radar system, it must be lightweight and weather-resistant; in addition, the radome should have low dielectric permittivity to achieve optimal electromagnetic-wave transmission. The need to minimize electromagnetic attenuation in the radome is particularly urgent for high-frequency systems such as millimeter-wave radars. Consequently, the relative dielectric permittivity (Dk) and loss tangent (Df)—physical properties describing the attenuation of electromagnetic waves in a material—are important characteristics of the materials used to fabricate radar components. Materials with high Dk or Df tend to exhibit significant absorption of electromagnetic waves, increasing signal losses and reducing sensitivity.

Paint a piece of clear tape or other removeable material and put that over the grill to see if it affects operation.

To add to that, the material to be painted might first be attached in front of the radar before painting it, to make sure the material itself doesn't block the radar.
