Nah, not if done properly. It'll be no more susceptible to chips than anything else on the front.

In fact, I've got chips on my hood already but grille is still golden.

I saw your video where you take off the whole bumper just to remove the grill and that is not something I want to with a brand new vehicle. Knowing me I would get frustrated and break something. I would rather mask it off in place. What type of paint did you use and did you have to scuff it? Thanks.

Never used it but I hear that it doesn’t hold up long term.
Never used it but some people say it works fine. Since it's removable you can just peel and replace it. There are some advantages.

Remember the xl grill is all one piece on the xlt the center bar is a separate piece
I have an xl and it comes apar, just like the xlt and Lariat

They’re talking about the XL center bar. It does NOT come off separately like the other trims. The whole thing is one piece with the grill. Don’t know why you say it’s does please exaggerate..
