Paint Codes (Desert Sand)?

Hi. Can anyone confirm that the paint code for the color Desert Sand Is … VA/M7290A?

My 2025 XLT is on order and is ”in production,” and I am trying to order an A.R.E. V-series bed cap, painted Desert Sand to match.

The service department of the dealership where I am buying the Maverick is not responsive. I called Ford, but instead of simply telling me what the paint code is for Desert Sand, they asked for my VIN, and, when I gave it to them, they said they couldn’t provide the paint code for that VIN because the truck is in “preproduction.“

Googling yielded the paint code above. But I don’t wanna trust googling when ordering a $3K+ custom painted truck topper.

writing this, I’m beginning to wonder whether I should wait until I actually have the Mave ordering the topper …

For 3k, I would wait to get the paint code off the door frame to get the exact one to give to ARE.

Until you see the paint code on the door tag of the truck you cannot be absolutely certain that there has NOT been a substitution with a slightly different available shade from the original intended one.

I know there's been one member on here that's purchased a 25 in desert Sand I would ask them what the paint code is on their door jamb.

Addendum. I have also been reading on this board a lot of good discussion about how a cap that is *not* all matchy-match with the truck color can look good as well. (i.e., retain the pickup-truck-profile and keep it from looking so much like an SUV.) Several folks have chosen black to match the external trim, which I think looks nice on a cap regardless of truck color. Thoughts on that? I believe the 2025 Maverick color is Shadow Black and the code is G1.

I bought a 2024 XLT Atlas blue. I ordered an A.R.E. V-series bed cap before my Maverick was delivered. I called my Ford salesman for the paint code. He was able to provide the code. He said Atlas blue is the same weather its on a Maverick, mustang, bronco, etc. My cap matches my truck perfectly. One thing I don't like about the A.R.E. V-series cap for the Maverick is the rear tailgate window doesn't tilt up enough. Its parallel with the ground. Constantly banging my head into it. Also, the rope light that runs down the middle of the top of the cap and the dome light in the cap stopped working. I need to bring it back to the A.R.E. dealer that installed it.They did say its covered under the A.R.E. warranty. Overall I think the quality of the cap is good.

Yes, VA is the paint code for desert sand (and terrain).
