I have 28,000 miles on my 23 XL Hybrid. Zero issues so far, except the infotainment screen freezes once in a while which will soon be addressed by Ford. At least it can be reset when that happens.

I pre-ordered a 25 mav lariat. Coming from my last few trucks : 19 ram 1500, 21 ram 1500, 23 ram 1500 Laramie…no issues, high quality vehicles, had each up to 55k (23 has around 22k on it)

that being said, I’m buying the Mav hybrid solely for fuel economy/commuting

I’m a bit nervous about the transaction, I’m selling my ram and will take somewhat of a loss either way of least a few thousand dollars. I keep reading about so many random issues people have with their mavericks. Cv axle, transmission leaks, windshields prone to damage, interior rattling, bed rusting under the factory spray liner, hybrid battery issues….how well made and reliable are these vehicles ? Hybrids only

My experience: New '22 EB sold at 9k miles when my special order hybrid arrived - except for a rumble in the dash, zero mechanical issues.

'24 hybrid Lariat: Now 6k miles. Zero drivetrain issues but there are 3 recalls on it, as yet undone. And I need to update Sync 3 to the latest version. It is very enjoyabe to drive but I don't trust Ford or Ford dealers to do the right thing.

Based on following this forum, getting a "good" one seems to be hit or miss.

For me, build quality and reliability are related but also separate issues. Build quality is the quality of the materials used and how well these materials were installed. Reliability, on the other hand, refers to how many repairs are made to fix broken parts. For example, BMWs are high build quality but reliability is terrible.

RE: BMW reliability = yes, that is why where I live most people lease them. Might be a good strategy for the Mav.

From what I have read, the CV Axel on prior model years is the most concerning issue. The Battery issue is an easy aftermarket fix if it happens. Hopefully the 25 MY they improved the CV axels.

If it's under warranty, will Ford upgrade the battery and charge just for the difference in price?

I've had my '23 XL Hybrid for over a year and over 18k miles. No issues at all, other than a dash rattle. I've had the applicable software updates applied, but my truck has had none of the issues the updates are supposed to address. Still original windshield, too.

Other than the rattly dash, build quality is about average, IMO, for a cheap truck. As such, my expectations have been low.

I had a 24 XL Hybrid from January 24 to August 24, then a 24 Lariat Hybrid from August 24 to now. I loved and had no problems with the prior Hybrid (only reason I traded in was I wanted all the bells and whistles before the price increase of 25). And again on the Lariat I have had no problems and love the Hybrid and gas mileage. I really feel it is a small percentage of Hybrids that have problems, and you really see more people post about the problems rather than people making random posts about how good theirs is or that they have had no problems. I say enjoy the excitement of waiting for it and then enjoy having it once you get it These Mavericks are amazing trucks despite what anyone else says. Hope this helps ease your mind.

I have a 2024 Hybrid with 9,000 trouble free miles (Fingers crossed LOL). I was concerned having read this forum in the lead up to my purchase, but so far so good. I'm a survey of one, but I think they probably got the initial issues ironed out by now.

As for the 2025 models, they're a very minor update. It seems not much has changed to bring in new issues. I could be wrong my wife always reminds me!

I read a lot of complaints about the hard plastics in the Maverick interior but our '18 Explorer had just as many hard plastics for a sticker price twice as high.

I love old jeeps & trucks with steel dashes and to me, the Maverick interior is a modern version of that. Basic, utilitarian, ready to work.

I've been satisfied with the level of road & wind noise in my XLT. Considering there's a surprisingly small amount of sound deadening materials, it's better than expected, and engine noise from the ecoboost is not annoying in normal mode but can get a bit buzzy in sport mode.

I've only had mine for a few months but I've been on enough forums to know that if you don't like reading about possible problems, don't read forums. It's a useful tool to be aware of what might be potential future troubles but just cause five people post the same problem doesn't mean you bought an unreliable ride.

It's a crap shoot. Most drivers have no major issues. I had my truck in so many times, that Ford finally said it was a lemon. The only issue that I still have is a braking issue that had a software fix twice but still happening. Ford offered to buy my truck back under the law but it would be too much to replace it. It's the best size, comfort and MPG for me. I negotiated a $4000 agreement to keep my truck and put the money in the bank. I normally wouldn't recommend a extended warranty but I'm glad I did. I'm expecting I'll use it down the road (7 years/100,000 miles). When everything is working, it's the best vehicle for me. It's also my first new ford (I'm 63 years old) and will be my last one as well. I don't truck the brand over Toyota or Honda.

I have a 24 Lariat hybrid for almost a year and have had no problems at all. Averaged 42 mpg on a recent trip and now getting 47 in mostly urban driving without A/C.

22 Lariat Lux Hybrid with 56k miles, mostly highway, and zero issues. One windshield replacement, but out by me, I've replaced a lot of windshields on other cars because of all the gravel trucks. Sure, it might go into a deep sleep if I don't drive it for a week, but it always starts right up. If I was really worried, I would replace the 12v, but I haven't.
